Beast Rafa. After winning the 2nd set he was in full control. Nole had chances though.

Anyway, another history book win for Nadal. 14 Slams, now tied with Sampras for 2nd most singles, 9th victory at the same Slam tied with Navratilova at Wimbledon and winning RG a 5th time in a row is unprecedented.

I'm so glad to be wrong on my prediction for this final !

However, I'm SO ashamed by the audience from my country. We're definitely the worst. Only the audience from the US Open is worse than this one, but at least they talk "all the time", from the first second to the last one, so the players quickly get used to it, not like if they did it on key points only.

US Open crowd is loud but not that hostile.

Bartoli once said that she always saw it as a burden to play at RG because the crowd is unforgiving there. They will cheer you to heaven when you win and drop you like a hot potato when you lose. It's more of a pressure for French players than a home advantage.

Court won most of her AO's before Open Era though.

I stil won't place Nadal ahead of Sampras because of the latter's long stint at No. 1 and his 6 year-end No. 1's. His performance on clay doesn't come close to Nadal's on grass though.

What I learned is that German weather specialists are better than French weather specialist... ^^

I was rooting for Djoko, but, to me, he had an awful draw... Nadal had a perfect draw, he did the job, had time to get his game back,...
And today it's hot & dry and when he plays like that he's just too godlike... I think I saw Djoko throwing up, suffocating ! ^^
But huge congrats to Nadal ! Got to tip your hat to him !...

Rafa's the first in tennis History to win same tournament* 9 times !
(*Any kind of tournament)

Now to the Grass season !!!
Go Roger ! :c

Nadal had an awful draw, maybe even worse than Djoko's one. The difference is that the "big" players who could have been a serious problem for Nadal at the beginning of the tournament all lost early : Wawrinka made 157835712 unforced errors in the first round, Tommy Haas gave up, Almagro too...

I disagre...
Haas was to play Almagro so it would have been one of them, and I'm not sure it would have been a big threat for Rafa anyway... And then it was Wav' or Murray... Not a big change to me...
Draws :
-Rafa : Ginepri (Wild Card) - Thiem (noob) - Mayer - Lajovic (noob) (It could have be Almagro or Haas) - Ferrer - Murray (It could have be Wav')
-Djoko : Sousa - Chardy - Cilic (ex-top 10) - Tsonga (ex-top 10 AND last year semi finalist) - Raonic (it could have be Nishikori) - Gulbis (it could have be Federer)

I think it's the easiest draw Rafa ever had at Roland Garros. He only had to play players < top 50 until Ferrer (Quarter-Finals). And Ferrer (and also Murray... a little bit) did shit. So no big struggles to reach the final...
Djoko played only players > top 50 ! Including two ex-top 10, and a last year semi finalist very soon in the tournament ! Cilic made him work hard, Raonic also (a little bit ! ^^) and I think Gulbis made him struggle hard...

To me, Djoko lost more energy to reach the final than Rafa. Even if Rafa had to struggle to get his Roland-Garros game back... So, to me, no surprise Djoko "exploded" against Rafa, specially in that "new" hot and dry weather they had on that Sunday....

Nole was 5-2 in Slam finals at one point. Dropped to 6-7 and his last victory was at the AO 2013.

I do agree with the fact that Rafa faced easier players, no doubt about it.

I just say that his draw was worse. He should have faced Almagro, Wawrinka, and he did face Ferrer, so three clay specialists (even though I still don't understand why journalists and specialists consider Wawrinka as a clay player, no matter the fact that apparently, the best results he had were on this surface...), and also three players who beat him this year, including two who did it on clay.
Then yes, ok, he finally faced "weak" players, and Ferrer, who should have been his "biggest" problem in all the players he had to deal with (...well actually, he's the only one who took a set from him before the final), did shit after consuming all his energy in the first set.

Nadal losing 4-6 1-6 to brown. Is it lack of preparation, or maybe motivation. Might be fatigue as well but man losing 1-6

Brown was just hammering nadal's serve back
