Richard Gasquet has by far the most fundamentally sound and perfect technique in the one hander backhand department. Nadal will still win but watching Richard play well is brilliant to watch.

Murray looks to have bounced back due to the coaching change. Dare I say he has a chance against Rafa?

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Man ferrer should be banned form tennis, he returning ball too much and with good depth.

Pretty good match so far pretty intense hitting kinda slowed down slightly, which will help troicki because he looked like he was going to die after some points lol.

Oh god, Roger, what are you doing....

Take a few months break and come back when you want to start kicking everybody's ass again!

Cuz he should be mowing through Melzer in his freaking sleep.

Melzer is playing really well though and has fully deserved his lead thus far. I think Federer couldn't care less about these tournaments though, just wants to focus on adding to his Grand Slam tally which is fair enough seeing as thats what truly matters at the end of the day.

That's what I'm saying, he should just go away for a couple months until he WANTS to actually play these tournaments.

And yeah, Melzer is playing well, but Federer is just 100% a better player, he shouldn't be losing to him on any surface.

Anyways the match is winding down so let's see if Melzer can avoid choking this one away...

Side note, I don't really know how these guys play in the wind, that's one of the things that impresses me most about the pros, the way they are able to adapt to the wind and make it seem like not a big deal at all. When really it's incredibly hard to deal with.

Yeah true, I hate to see Federer missing the shots he normally makes blindfolded. Problem is this is probably the most important swing in the entire season so if he takes even a month off it'll leave quite a wide gap between him, Djokovic and Nadal.

Hope Federer can somehow see this through though, losing to Melzer in such a big tournament doesn't seem right.

Also I agree on how well they're copying with the wind, seems impossible to be hitting kick serves with that kind of sandstorm. Will be interesting to see if Melzer can serve it out here.
