Federer could have won all the sets he wanted today - three or more - Nadal was a beaten man. Still, in the end, the loss might be good for Nadal ... nothing like a sound beating to stir the competitive juices.

But of course it will be a huge difference at the French Open, because finally you have to win even 3 sets

Even had it been a 5 set match today, Federer would still have won. Nadal was a bit tired and Federer was in the zone after the first set. His forehand and first serve were exceptional and Nadal was beaten by the better player today.

Of course he would have beaten Nadal also if it would have been a best of 5 match. But I am talking about Roland Garros. There are some days left, and then Nadal won't be tired again

I think he will be tired though, he has done nothing but play tennis non-stop. Federer has been knocked out of a couple of tournaments so he hasn't played as much.

Nadal won't be tired. He knows what he is doing. He will have a week off and then during Roland Garros will only be playing every other day. He was tired for this match because he had to play 10 singles matches plus 3 or 4 doubles matches in 14 days. I'm sure the long match against Hewitt took a lot from his reserves, but he will have an extra day of rest to recover from a long match in Roland Garros.
