the biggest difference between the 1st set and the 2nd and 3rd sets was that gasquet was crushing his forehand in the 2nd and the 3rd

Roger stopped winning 3rd sets. That is the main change to me.

ok will fed make semis of rg this are the alarm bells ringing shuld he play nice for confindence man im starting to doubt can keep his most presious streak of all and break free from borg and sampras and go 9 consecutive seasons winning at least one slam i have written of rg leaving wimby and us open i think he can win both but he could do with nole-like confidence right now

no way should fed play nice. he will get to paris and practice on the clay, no reason for him to put his body through more matches right before a slam.

See Fed being a dick in the press conferance afterwards?

"I should never have lost this match," said world number three Federer, knocked out by Ernests Gulbis in the second round in Rome last year.
"He knows how close he came to losing. I had multiple chances but I couldn't make the difference."

"I thought I was playing well but he served better towards the end and hung in there.I didn't feel I could break and it's no fun to play like that," said Federer.

The bolded is true. But coming from Federer?!? He should be a bit more polite about something like that(unlike Verdasco ), considering the amount of people who have probably came away from a match against him thinking the exact same thing. :P

I would be pissed losing to gasquet though. He has bags of talent but the fighting fortitude of a well cooked root vegetable. I think 2011 is the start of federer's "sampras years", like how Pete went over two years from wimby 2000 to 2002 USO without winning a tourney. His form wasn't terrible though, getting to USO finals and masters finals. I think fed will experience the same sorta thing.... and of course probably end his career with a slam win. I'd love nothing better than him to slip to about15th in the rankings by 2013/14 and roll back the years for one last wimby or USO. would be a great end to his career.
