i always thought wc were reserved for players who couldn't access the draw why the number 1 ranked player needs a wc to play montecarlo, is it because he wasn't going to play and changed his mind in the last minute?

I remember last year he was not due to play and got a wc but not sure about this year.

I didn't even think Monte Carlo was a Masters Series as it's not mandatory anymore.

Murray was granted WC to Monte Carlo, tbh i dont think its very fair..

Anyway i really hope federer isnt rewarded a WC caus that could go to someone who needs it for their career instead of someone who won try :?
