- He was serving great second serves....probably second to Federer at the moment. Clutch serving was phenomenal.

- He picked apart both Nadal and Djoko with great shots, timely net rushes and absolutely wonderful 1H BH down the lines.

- What he lacked in speed, he made up for in shot selections and simply out smart the competition.

- Roddick was never in it - in my opinion. Lubicic was the aggressor in this one and made Rod look like a pusher at times.

I give all the credit to Lubicic. Well done, Congrats!

In the Djokovic match he was really struggling, at like 4-3 djokovic played a terrible game, made a few errors, gifted ljubicic a bp, then netted an easy BH after he had won the point,
At 4-4 djokovic had 15-40, 2nd serve, 80 MPH serve to Backhand with minimal spin, Djokovic puts too much on and longs it. At 5-6 he played more bvad points gifting a bp, djokovic gave ljubo the upper hand in the rally andljubo in fairness took advantage with nice volleys.

well after all, to be the champion, you ahve to beat everyone in your way...and he did that...i think that too much analysis just for one match its not the reason why he was the champion

Not at all. It's always bugged me a little when people dismiss a tournament victory with comments about an easy draw, or his opponent was off etc... Who's to say he wouldn't have still won if he played all the top 5 guys at their very best? He was the best at the tournament that week, that's all there is to it.

thanks then...its what i first understood, but on a second thought (and coming from you  ) i realized that sentence seemed totally obvious..."i mean "to be the champion you have to beat everyone, and thats what he did" lol

but i see you got my point...i also hate the same thing..

Sheng Long :P

I remember when EGM magazine ran an April Fool's joke that fooled A LOT OF PEOPLE, saying they found a way to find and play Sheng Long in SF2.

Some people probably went insane trying it because the method they listed was insanely hard

 Sorry, I didn't know how to spell that, so I googled....google corrected my spelling to what you see above :?

On topic:

I agree for the most part with article below. I always thought of Lubicic as a cool guy, Very talented tennis head on his shoulders....and the only thing limiting him from becoming #1 (for a few weeks, month) was his speed.

One more time, Congrats Ivan! 100000% Deserved title. I am 31 y/o as well, and I can tell you...this is not easy. I can barely last 2 hours in a semi-competitive match with my wife...let alone beating Nadal-Djoker-Roddick
