Davydenko in two quickies, my guess.

I know Federer hasn't been playing as amazing as he always does, lately, but...you didn't even include an option for him winning? Come on, Davydenko's a wall and clay suits him, but I think crazier things have happened than Roger "best player ever?" Federer beating Nikolay "Mr. Clean" Davydenko on clay.

Well, as they say, anything is possible. However I am, with the poll, attempting to stay in the realm of reality.

Gonna be biting a big one if Federer actually wins. :)

On the subject of Federer ... any explanation for that mombo welt on his right cheek? I'm thinking Mirka coldcocked him for embarrassing her (with his play of late).

I had already noticed that when he passed. It's really hugly, it seems a really bad wound or something, I don't know what it may be, maybe of the mono. I've been watching the semis today there and really unfortunately I think Federer will lose. Davydenko it's amazing as we all know it's impressive how can he play so fast, constantly, opening angles and rarely failing a ball, Serra was hitting from the baseline but just always ended by playing it to the net, when the speed was too much already. Federer, well, the first set it was completely his fault, he made lots of unforced errors, forehands to the net mainly when he get balls in the middle of the court just for ending the point, ridiculous. The second set he won 7-5 it's true but that guy Gremelmayer was playing really amazing, his backhand was awesome and his constant amorties one after another were working suprisingly excellent. At the end Federer won, on the last set he played much better but also because Gremelmayer didn't play at the same level of the previous sets. I think Federer at this level, doing stupid unforced errors can't win Davydenko, so I would bet Davydenko in 3 sets. I won't vote then because I don't agree with any of the choices available. Still if Davydenko wins in 2 for sure I don't think it would be quick because even if he isn't playing well, Federer's service is still very good, he keeps doing many aces or "non-returned" services.

I honestly think this match is about 50/50 for who will win. This is probably the best chance Davydenko will ever have in his whole career to beat Federer, unless Federer's level dips even slightly lower in the immediate future (unlikely). Davydenko's on fire, Federer's cold, the match is on clay...still Roger has the psychological edge since I think Davydenko has never beat him. Since Davydenko seems to suffer sometimes from a lack of confidence, he could choke tomorrow. However, I think yet another player will have a brief victory over the Federer dominance.

Are you kidding? Just for start he lost in 2006 in Estoril Final to Nalbandian 6-4 6-3. He also lost in St. Poelten (clay) in 2003 to Roddick, 6-3 6-2 and in Bastad (clay) in 2006 to Tommy Robredo, 6-2 6-1.
