Madrid Open

Back on red clay. Some first round matches already underway, Benneteau looking good vs Simon so far. Fed won't defend his title and Murray isn't top on clay and after his Monte Carlo title Nole will be the big favourite.

I was also sure that Nole was going to win in Madrid, but he has been defeated in 2nd round by Dimitrov

Respect to Dimitrov, he is playing amazing tennis last months. But his main problem is his physique. It is not normal for a boy of 20/22 years finish all matches with muscle cramps (i think tha's the word in english, but not sure). What will happen when Dimitrov have to play a 5 set match in RG???? Probably he will finish the match in a wheelchair... :D

And finally Verdasco won 1 match!!!!! (against Raonic)

Djokovic out is a great thing for two players, Nadal and Tsonga. Tsonga will have an easier QF draw and get probably Wawrinka, exactly like in MC where he reached SF, with maybe a weaker Wawrinka who has played a lot of matches recently. I don't see Berdych going very far in that tournie so he might leave lots of points behind him (made Final last year), that and the combination of Delpo's withdraw will start to shrink the rankings noticeably between those 3 if of course Tsonga makes it to the SF.

Nadal...well now the title depends on Fed and Murray's form but they don't look too sharp on their first matches.

Djokovic losing in Madrid was good --> for Djokovic and his hopes of winning at Roland Garros. That wonky ankle needs rest and that's exactly what Dr. Dimitrov prescribed.

Indeed his movement seemed a bit sloppy (not if that was because of the ankle or not, i'd say it's not) but it was pretty clear to me that yesterday he didn't have the keys against a very aggressive player going for all the shots when he had an opportunity, and with an even better serve than Federer's. Probably one of those days where the feeling isn't there and your physical condition won't help you after the first 1h30.

Btw Haase has lost 17 tiebreaks in a row (ATP-matches). Last tiebreak won in Zagreb January-February in 2012 :o

Federer out vs Nishikori as well. Nadal is already the big winner.

And of course Nish can't back it up and loses vs Andujar.

Tsonga saves a match point in one of the most ridiculous fashions I've ever seen.

I now want him to win this match.

Nadal arrives at a Masters semifinal and sees a guy named Andujar standing in his way - probably thinks he's dreaming.
