But it's a rule. If you hit an official you get DQ'd. Henman was DQ'd once for hitting a ball after a point in frustration that hit a ball girl.

I agree that he had passion and all, but it was the right decision, because it is a strict rule. Also, the line judge wasn't in the way. He was where he was meant to be, so that he could correctly call shots.

I don't agree with his prize money being withdrawn, he won that fair and square. However the tournament officials could impose a fine equalling his earnings so he would go home with $0 but not pay a fine on top of the withdrawn prize money. He could still get hit by a civil lawsuit though. If he's smart (lol), he should settle this out of court.

As for further sanctions, the ATP may not allow him to compete at Wimbledon.
