Nadal strategy in the final

Postby Samael » Sat, 28 Jan 2012 08:35

What do you think Nadal should do to surprise Djokovic tomorrow? Obviusly he doesn't have the serve Murray and Federer have and his top spin fh isn't good enough to topple the Serb. What are his solutions then?

What? Nadal is no Service-Machine but his Spin-Service is very effective or more effective than it may seem.

Also his Forehand has the most effective Spin on the Tour and is powerful enough too.

What did you smoke?

What i wrote is that these 2 weapons, unless a bit changed, won't cause Djokovic too much trouble.

Hm maybe you are right and I underestimate Djokos Power. But after I saw Nadal against Federer I really can't imagine Djoko will blast Nadal of the Court as it would be nothing.

And Djoko has this long five Sets Match against Murray in his Bones.

But we'll see. If they are both fit and focused it will be a great Match. That's for sure.

really thats all nadal needs to do is just play his game....djok has the mental edge on him right now..IMO i think fed cant beat nadal because he cant make nadal hit backhands consistently...what i think djok is doing is great hes able to make nadal hit backhands...whether he hits a backhand down the line or a forehand cross court...and i think djok also has the best cross court angled fh at the moment....i think djok's fh is just as effective as federer's---he can hit every shot; inside out, down the line, etc etc...and also djok never gets pulled out of position because his backhand is so awesome---doesnt have to waste time to run around to hit the forehand, but he can do that too---i think nadal should pull djok to the net more for sure---its gonna be a great match

Nadal will have to hit deep consistently in baseline rallies against djoko, in the finals ive seen them play these last 12 months, Nadal has hit too many short looping shots that give djoko the time to hit winners, Murray had a great length on his shots in the semi and nearly won.
but i think djoko now had the edge on nadal mentally, which is massive. nadal has it on federer, and i believe soon that murray will have it on them all, just a matter of time until he is number 1

NAdal's forehand can hurt Nole. It's just Nadal's backhand that is the problem. He can't hit it effectively up the line, so Nole can just hit it there and be on top of the point immediately. If Nadal can get that shot working, the match will be much closer.

Nadal strategy in the final:-

1. Hit to nole backhand.
2. finds that the big topspins fall cleanly into nole's comfort zone to smack the 2HBH.
3. Struggle.
4. Lose 1st set 3-6.
5. Begin teeing cross court forehands around to nole's forehand in a attempt to make space to his backhand. finds some success, but still loses set 6-7.
6. Raises 1st serve %, stands closer to the baseline, hits flatter and closer to the lines, and makes it stick. Moves nole around and breaks down defences and with a mammoth eoffrt takes the set 6-3.
7. Cannot sustain that level of play, 1st serve % drops and UE's creep in, along with fatigue. Steps 1, 2 and 3 repeat themselves, and Nadal goes down 4-6 in the 4th.

And Nadal wouldn't be a 10 Times Grand Slawm Winner if he wouldn't have the weapons for it. No matter if we talk about his Service or his Forehand.

I really hope for a great Match and this Time I'll watch it!

Me Idiota fall into sleep the last important Matches. ^^

But the Azarenka - Sharapova Match wasn't worth it anyway after I know the Result now. ^^
