Favourite Match of all Time?

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere on here before but I was watching a few retro videos on YouTube of McEnroe, Borg, Sampras, Agassi and it made me think of my favourite match ever. What are your favourite matches and why?

I think mine has to be the Australian Open 2005 semifinal between a certain Roger Federer and Marat Safin both in their undoubtable primes. I have never seen two players play so well or hit the ball so hard for such a long period of time. Not to mention the Australian Open is my favourite slam so I loved watching it, the atmosphere was breathtaking!

Probably the most epic match of all time

Safin vs Hewit AO 05 was a great one, too

Probably Ivanisevic vs Rafter in the 2001 wimbledon final, taking context into account...

Pretty recent but the Fed/Djokovic semi of this year's US open absolutely blew my mind.

I think you are talking about their EPIC final match in rome in 2006, the 5 setter one, thats one of my all time favorite, very high quality match, Fed as his best, Nadal as his fastest and probably luckiest btw Roger is very well experienced in losing match points so it might not be Nadal's luck.

Nadal Vs Djokovic Madrid 2009, is prolly my favorite 3 set match, was never ending with gruelling rediculous rallies...

Fed Vs Safin 05 was a really great match for the time - I do think that even since 05 the game has moved up a level, for example Nadal Vs Verdasco australian open 2009 was an amazing exhibition of pace and spin, Federer and safin in my opinion was an exhibition of flat power hitting, trying to blast each other off the court.

Altho it wasnt the longest of encounters, I do think this years us open final was my favorite match, purely based on the tennis which I thought alot of the time was at an all time new level from both players.

Hard to pick one match as my favorite, but this one blew my mind! I was (still am) a big Sampras fan, and I was more than 100% sure that Pistol Pete was going to to win! I was cheering for him! And Marat dismembered Pete in 3 straight sets! 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. Awesome!
Kind of first time we had a player like Safin : enormous power, nice technique, and the will to hit the ball really soon (I guess Courier was the first, no?)... Now we have Tsonga and all! So sad Safin has retired now, we can thank Tsonga for now holding the "legacy" in good ways...
