Exactly. If it wasn't for these 3 possibly 4 hyperathletes we would be amongst the most open and close era in tennis for skills and margins between the top.

And remember, Del Potro has already won 1. He would/should have the mental advantage over the others, especially since it was Federer he ousted.

I just can't come to terms how Djokovic in a space of 2 months (not even, since the offseason in Tennis is about 6 weeks, less for some players) has become the most supreme athlete out there on the circuit. At the beginning of the 4th set it came down to a battle of fitness and frankly Djokovic, other than that strategic timeout for his 'lower back', was the fitter of the two and swept Rafa aside.

Like Koellerer has said in his opening post, I have never seen anyone play with such consistency, power and depth. THAT 2-2 game in the second set.. the amount of times he made Nadal dance around the baseline with constant returns right to his feet.. it made me think he's taking some performance enhancing drug as well.

What kind of drug could he be taking that they don't test for??

He just has much more confidence now and I guess more energy from the gluten-free diet.

I've fantasized about blowing the man up with RPG's from the top of Arthur Ashe, in the middle of a match and I still don't think he's cheating or anything like that.

Its just the style Nadal plays that suits Djokovic perfectly, you saw Roger with 30 could win the match , and won once 3-1, someone with age of 23-4(how old is he, i dont know cause i like him so much) and playing the best tennis at the momnet, not being able to win easy against a 30 years old guy(even if he is Federer) means he can't be on drugs. its just the match ups. Roger knows how to stop Djokovic from being a robot on baseline , but Nadal doesn't! thats why they go through some unblievable physical game.

lmao!

There's nothing suspicious about Novak's year. He did this the hard way, with intense training and good advice, smart tactics.
People though I was crazy when I said (in March) he'd be #1 before the USO, and he achieved that even faster than I thought possible.

What really impressed me from watching the final on Sunday was the difference in pace between Nadal and Djokovic. Every shot from DJ was flat, hard, and deep. And on average, about 30% faster between racket contact and when it hit the court compared to Rafa's best shots. Nadal is an incredible defender, but he had no chance against that kind of pace.

And also how soon he (they) hitted the ball!...
Seeing them hitting the ball sooner and sooner, in long and intense rallies was also really impressive!
