Question about Carlos Moya

Postby Saarbrigga » Sun, 13 Jun 2010 15:13

Former german Tennis player Carl Uwe "Charly" Steeb, who won the Davis Cup in the late 80 s with Boris Becker, is the co commentator of Halle/Germany.

Some days ago, he said former French Open Champion Carlos Moya plans to retire after the US Open 2010.

@ Moralspain and the Spaniards

Can you confirm this please? Steeb said Moya s girlfried is pregnant and he want to quit his tennis career...

If Moya isn't yet retired then he might as well be.
I mean I watched a bit of his match against Benjamin Becker during the Madrid tourney, and Moya was just pathetic. Every second shot seemed to be mis-timed, no serve to speak of, and he just looked incredibly slow out there.
I don't know about his possible injuries, lack of match fitness etc etc, but he just looks completely shot.

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

The US Open is really going to waste a wildcard on Carlos Moya?

Not so. Mr. Moya will surprise EVERYONE this year. Safe bet: Moya will advance to the US Open final (losing to Gulbis in straight sets).
