Wow, I guess his knees really aren't ever going to be the same again. I figured with all the rest he's had lately and playing on clay again, he wouldn't have any problems. This is bad news indeed.

here we go again
so if he loses at RG, the chronic knee pain might be considered to be one of the main contributing factors?

has Rafa ever lost a match where there was never an issue of tiredness or injury involved? :P
no?

so this guy is always batting 1000 whether he wins or loses

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

in my opinion when he lost in Paris last year it was because Soderling was superb that day, if the swedish can play that way again he´s clearly one of the big favorites.
And bloufo i wish we didn´t have to talk about his **** knees but that´s fact, he´s damaged, or has been damaged or whatever, and of course now every time he loses a match can blame his knees, but that´s up to him and his honesty

no look I get your point and of course were not athletes(maybe semi-professional armchair critics :P  ) so we can't appreciate to the extent that Rafa has to deal with pain, match in and match out. I get that. What I was saying or implying was more that unlike most players, Rafa seems to have a built-in excuse sometimes regardless of the performance.
But it's all cool and I agree, - let's not talk about his shit knees anymore.

One difference: Rafa always gives credit. Even when sometimes its not due. Win or lose. Sometimes he goes over board and gives too much credit to the opponent he just beat 6.0 6.1

I agree with you, now he always can use the knees issue as excuse, it´s true

Isnt it just the media mentioning this every time he looses? He many times does Nadal actually say: "This loss was because of my knees"?
