To me,serve is parts of Tennis skills man!Like a penalty is part of Football's skills...
And Coria had a very decent serve! If i remember well he was able to serve aces at 200 Km/H (outwide slices most of time :P )-And i don't think he quitted cause of his bad serve but mostly cause of physical problems...(but i could be wrong here as i haven't checked all this at all! :) )
Guys come on...Kournikova was playing at a time when no players were great (Except 1 or 2 like Hingis,...)...She was damn hot but was an awful tennis player!Watching a whole tennis match with her was a nightmare to me!
She was only a baby star and she only wanted to be famous...
To me,one of the dumbest thing in the world (in professional sports!) is : wanting to be famous and earn money...And I really believe that this was all that mattered for Kournikova...
Just my opinion guys...

you misunderstood me, of course serving is important, what i wanted to say is that Coria also had a period where he could not put the ball in with his serve, he was known in some places as "Guillermo Double fault Coria".
Concentration problem, that´s what they both had, and that has nothing to do with tennis skills. (again IMO)

Lindsay Davenport, Jennifer Capriati, Jelena Dokic, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, to name a few. Those are 5 top players at Anna's time which I just came up with, if I were to look it up I assure you I could add at least 5 more to the list. Anna had a bad serve, but she made up for it with her other attributes. Unrivaled movement and volleying skills and hard flat strokes. If having a bad serve makes you a bad player Elena Dementieva is the worst player of all, which Elena most DEFINITELY isn't.

Ok..I was exagerating a bit...
(Maybe we could add Mauresmo,Tauziat,Novotna... ;) )
But mostly it was Davenporc,Hingis "where's my mummy?!Mhuaaaahhhh",Capriati, and Seles...
You won't make me think that Kournikova was at their level...And Dementieva has way much more "shots" in her pocket than what Kournikova had...
I agree with ya that Ana was able to send some scuds...But i believe amlost every WTA player can...And "unrivaled movement"?...I'm not sure of what it means with her but it's not in Tennis...(My opinion : She didn't have any exceptionnal shots,or "moves"...)
;)
But it's also possible that i'm hard with her as i thought she was a "fake" pro tennis player...Just a buzz of how good looking she was AND able to play decent tennis...She knew some kind of "peak" in her carrer some times i guess...

It should be punishable by law typing Kournikova (the quintessence of beauty) and Davenport in the same sentence.
