Agreed, she thinks she is all seeing all knowing, unlike most past greats I really don't think she is that popular or that anyone pays much attention to what she says like maybe a BJK or McEnroe.

I heard Martina commentate. I did not feel like you Jay. She does sound a bit monotone when she speaks. That can drive you nuts.

Yeah I get the same impression too about her popularity...you can really tell why

I missed the last week of the US Open (congrats to both super-surprise winners), but I would place Mary Carrillo(sp?) above Martina as worst commentator of all time. Not only does she sound like a man until you SEE her talking, she is the most dour, ,bitter, and unlikable personality in sports period.

i think matina is actually pretty good.....she offers a lot of from a player point of view that sometimes gives u a different perspective

They're both awful, trust me I hate Carillo too. Martina is more of a new hatred for me- Carillo's always been there.

Mary Carillo is my least favorite as well. To her credit, she uses analogies that I like most often though. She is very educated.

At the same time, I guess the educated does not make the best commentator.
