Totally losing interest in the game

Postby inseedious » Fri, 02 Aug 2013 18:29

I think I'm done with the game at least for this summer. To play at a decent level, since average players are improving alot, I need to train at least 2 hours a day, while I'm usually playing just tourney matches. I lost some matches that I could win without any problem 1-2 months ago, vs players who are just almost always online and can fortunately dedicate a lot of time to this game. And the fact that net play is totally useless now doesn't help me of course. With this loss of variety, this game doesn't worth 2 hours a day to me, at least for these months. It's a very good game, I've always thought it, but there are too many problems to be solved by manutoo (like the movements), and the features and variety of gameplay are just too low to me to be an interesting game for the summer. I just admire players like moe, who are playing at top levels without training so much. I hope there will be interesting changes before september/october, so I will gain some interest back. Remember to enjoy the summer and also play real tennis!

That was the golden quote. I play tennis in real life and that keeps me entertained with this TE13. Otherwise i'm usually bored in 2-3 months even with complex games like fifa 13, nfs most wanted and so on. In fact they have so much game mode, with different things to try out and fifa's ultimate team is no joke. But since I don't play football in real life I lose my interest quickly.

When I'm playing real life tennis I imagine this game and Virtua Tennis 4. When I'm playing those games I try to visualize things in my mind.

For me, interest isn't lost as long as I am being beat alot. If there is room for improvement, it keeps me interested in most cases. Why not you, inseedious? As long as you eat bagles from top players, there is alot you haven't learned yet. That's "interesting"!

Well it can be annoying to see people you beat in the past, improve so much that they now beat you ; and you on your side, as you have no time or less time to practice, you can't compete against these guys.

But every match has its own history, you can loose one day and win the next one as the form of everyone is different from a day to another. It also depends on the matchup.

Well it's not about losing matches, I'm not a diva :). It's more about the game that does no more worth about 2 hours a day during summer. There are people who usually play more during summer, while others are busier and can't dedicate so much time to a game, especially if it lost variety. I'm aware that even giving the better of me I won't win vs top 20 guys if I play just tourney matches, so it's not funny at all to play way below my max level. The last matches I played were very boring because I had no fun playing the game, even at 4-4 in the 3rd set vs sorauze. I totally gifted him the match, and I didn't feel frustrated or something similar, as I was just sick of the game. I hope I will find my love for this game again.

Why practice when you can reach the top with Agassi! Seriously though, playing ITST online has helped me in reality when I play tennis. The control shots that Fed, Nadal, Agassi hit can be performed on a real tennis court (not exactly like on the game). It honestly opened my eyes to angles that no one thinks about; therefore never use. Like when standing at the tick mark at the base line for a ground stroke; to the deuce side you can hit a short topspin angle an kick opponent off the court; to adv side you can hit a backhand slice close in the service box to the doubles alley rather than aiming for a drop-shot. These things really mess up my opponents and keep me on top in real tennis. You see SO MUCH variety in ITST matches and some 2kOpen matches that you could possible use in real tennis to strengthen your game and add to your repertuar. This is stuff that people PAY coaches for, but as long as you realize that you can convert the things that you see on ITST matches (with in reason) you can convert it into your REAL tennis matches. Become a craftier player WITHOUT paying for a coach! :) :c Saves me some money! lol

Duh, you lost me right after this sentence. This is a forum for Tennis Elbow 2013. Not top spin 4.

You can reach your top with agassi. Next time i'd be nice if your morse code actually benefited your blind eyes
