That's actually realistic. Aggressive lobs are rarely used when you hit it from your own service box unless you are using extreme topspin. From that position it's just hard to get the ball over a pro with a low trajectory, there isn't enough space, it has to be a high lob if you are hitting it from your own service line. Or a passing shot.

You can definitely trust in BigBrush's opinion, he was the king of the lobs on TS4

Glad to hear you agree 8)
If you guard against the lob people cant lob over you in TE or TS4 period end of story. If you choose not to guard against it, you get what you deserved when the ball goes over your head. :D

Btw, when will you come and show us your ability to pass a lob in TE ?! I'm still waiting for Sh0case and Fifa Tee to prove their skills but it seems they sux so they gave up.

I'm quite sure you could launch another tennis sect with some other very metaphysic theories about the gameplay !

Well I know my computer isn't fast enough to not lag the matches so therefore TE isn't an option for me at the moment. Second in top spin 3 I could keep up with and beat itst guys in the world tour mode with my guy also with 40-90 itst settings. Top spin 3 gave you full choice of shot. Third, we have only played twice in ts4 where I do not get full choice in the shot I want, when I want, but somehow I won both. I look forward to a future encounter against you where I have full choice of my shots should that encounter ever occur.

Well in TE, you can use short, long accel, normal shots, spins, counter, at any time, so I guess I'll meet you there :)
If you're as fond of tennis as you seem to be, I'm quite sure you'll get a working computer to run one of the less demanding game in terms of technical ressources.

I'm not buying a new computer just to play TE
But if you truly want to play a sim match go buy Top Spin 3 for Xbox, I looked on amazon its like $3, so price shouldn't be an issue. I await your acceptance of my challenge. You seem to think I'm afraid of sim style tennis, which is completely wrong. And if ur even thinking about arguing that TS3 isn't realistic, save your breath.

whether or not its aggressive lob or defensive it doesn't matter. they both suck
cmon
if I lob it should go over opponent, forcing him to retreat more than 2 steps! Unless its a defensive lob from well behind baseline.

Are u actually trying to tell me that lobs in TE are good, realistic? ha. Its the lamest thing in TE.

Top Spin 4 looks like tennis of the 80's, Top Spin 3, it seems it's the tennis from the fifties : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnN2yABI3oc

I was sure I would bring the Djarvik in the conversation after having critizez TS3 :D

After having watched your match vs PCFitness, my opinion stays the same : the game looks quite rigid, characters seem heavy for instance. Aesthetically speaking it seems less fluent and fluid than TS4 (check a TS4 video after a TS3 one), less natural I mean. However, points are shorter with UE and risky shots, exchanges may be then more realistic. But maybe too many aces due to his "heaviness" of the characters ?

The "weight" of the character is the best feature. In all other games, the characters feel feather like light. In TS3 they feel humanly heavy. You needed to master the movement to make them feel light. Aesthetically, the animations may have got slightly better for TS4, but there is WAY less of them available and they all very similar.

Graphics improving is a obvious thing, but when com paring to TE....rather not.

As far as serves and aces, return took time to master, but it was possible to to allow aces for an entire match. It all depended on a skill. TS3 allowed for Various skill sets to be developed by human players, you can be great at returning and suck at serving, or be a great mover but horrible at risk etc... each human opponent felt profoundly different, you can see the style immediately. Something TE and TS4 do not have, or rather much less pronounced.

TS4 sucks. Plain and simple. TE is a great game, no doubt. But TS3 is still the king on Console tennis to me. A game with ultimate, never ending depth, skills that literally took years to develop. Unlike in TE where one with quick fingers can be competitive within a month or two.

Anyway, its all a preference, you don't have to like TS3, but since you didn't even scratch the surface with this game - I don't think you should be passing judgments, but then again it is an open forum, so go ahead. :)

When one loves so much something he neglects the defects without realizing... I'm the first to do it about TE, lowering the impact of graphism for instance.

Off course what I pointed out here was just an impression after having watched videos without really playing it.
I actually had TS3, I played it, but only in offline (just career mode) when the game was released.
As I heard the online was rigged with the powerful setups I didn't buy the Xbox Live stuff to play online.

Anyway, I had fun with it because the gestures were natural to do with the pad (going up/down with sticks if I remember well) but it felt really heavy as the video shows and not reactive (but this was more due to my slow TV at that period). But come on, you play tennis too, you definitely know that you don't feel that heavy on a court...

Now I know you're far from being alone to say TS3 is a great tennis game, so I respect your opinion, even though I don't really understand it regarding what I felt when I played it plus these videos, which are not impressive when you watch TS4 high level exchanges or even TE. Maybe the infinite skill cap is the thing that made it so funky + the individual styles you described.
