A serious challenge to the mockers!

Postby Fez » Thu, 13 Jun 2013 01:15

So, remember I used to complain about some mysterious factor that gave a player either an advantage and disadvantage. I challenge any top 25 player to play one set with me hosting regular match. Then play me hosting private match via IP address. And we will see if you are playing the same Fez in both. Same court, same characters, same ping. Just different host environment. Lets see!

Vmoe, Elias, one of you asked me to provide a .dmo file to substantiate my claims. this is better than that.

Uchi can confirm, he just beat Fox, they played private host. He agrees with me. When will this HUGE issue gain recognition?

Get another two people to acknowledge the issue and we will look into it.

What's the issue exactly, weaker players playing better, and top dogs playing worse, in private mode ?
we"ll try it for sure. No the first time i use private mode, though i didn't felt much difference, besides it's working when MG servers are down.

Well, I'm sorry but I have to join Fez cause, there is something weird that happen sometimes, as if your opponent has 1 ms in avdvance and your shots are not effective at all. Sorauze & Isaldor already reported these issues to me sometimes, so we are three more guys to talk about this ^^

But it really looks random

Thank you C4ill. Ahem....Vmoe, , Djarvik, Robbin (especially you man, been a Fez hater from the start! :) )

And I love the way you worded it C4, "feels like opponents has 1ms advantage". I've been searching for a good way to express it for weeks! There it is!
And yes, it IS very random, thats why its hard to pin a cause on it.

If we discover a problem, ya'll owe me like a "Fez Vindicated" party.

Fez retires again! lol

i just had the single most absurd match ever. strikes had absolutely no power. Even if after a serve, my opponent hit safe shot...i would set up for ages, right on sweet spot, and ball would come off my racquet like mishit reg strike. SLOW! all match long. This is the most extreme instance of something that happens more or less extremely on nearly every match played. Sometimes its more obvious than other times, but its there.
There is no consistency in online play. Its a game of random advantage.
This issue makes itst a joke. Forgive me but the entire scheme is ruined by this. there are a growing # of users that recognize it. Too bad that weeks of my discussing it has changed nothing. And perhaps its because half the users simply don't experience it so that don't care. Understandable. But the fact that half the players do experience it means that even those who don't are effected. The rankings mean nothing. TE is...I believe the French word is...."efete"

I would wanted to see if you would have made the same complains in the case you were a so called "top player" making good results in major tournaments and having a great ranking position :c
Everybody can easily complain about something when someone does not reach a certain result preferring to find giustifications, like you make since months about the game mechanic, instead of focusing on yourself and on your game trying to improve (and however, truely, I saw a certain improvement on your game since last time :wink: so you should do a better thing maybe concentrating on train), cause between our top players matches are not already decided before the beginning: between a VMoe, a Floriann, a Butcher, a Vavrimm, a Clog, a C4ill, ecc. of the situation, one match can be won by one, the next by the opponent, cause they all have an high level, and each other have a similar level;
you complained brutaly with me for using short slices accusing me of cheesy behaviour when you stayed metres and metres out of the baseline during all the match, picking up a defensive like Murray instead of Gulbis wich was written on the draw. I won tough battles at RG with players, Elias and Dimitrov, that are actually superior to you, so I don't think I'm so weak (sure, it's also true that clay is different from hard and if I see my results, my best ones are on red clay) and if I don't manage to beat you with my usual offensive play frome baseline I try rightly other weapons wich I don't love much, very often they were not slices but particularly slow drop shots; you stayed metres out of baseline also in order to not commit unforced but you had to pay the price of not reaching the slices, you could have stayed near the baseline and automatically I would not have need of hit slices cause I could have made baseline winners or exploited your errors wich would have been major. I truely congratulated for several shots by you but you even blocked the chat and ignored my willness of solve the discussion, so for me there's not actually much to talking about.
If you have to complain infinite times about everything different from you, such as you're a victim of something weird in this game, I could say: goodbye, by me you won't be missed

Fez, did we go through this, a few times? :x Didn't we discuss that you cannot play with any other player than the one you registered for the draw with?

You have the nerve to ask me for something to be done about YOUR problem, while completely ignore what
I have asked you to do.

Poor show...

Piggy,

The "absurd match" i referred to above, was not the match I played with you so you're going off over nothing. And your short slices were done on every critical point in the match, when i was threatening to break. Total cheese. And I DID make same complaints even when I win, just read old posts. I have played guys with 1800+ elo who consistently beat good players on itst, and I was beating them 6-2 6-1 several times. They even remarked on how "awesome I was". I"m not awesome, I was just benefitting from the issue. I could easily tell. All balls opponents hit at me were slow, easy to get to. You don't play 800 games of TE and have 1800 elo and hit like that.

djarvik,

I have an issue with itst 'change pro player" page, that comes up blank when i try to change. Even vmoe reported having a similar problem. I was told that if my opponent didnt mind, that it was fine to use different player. And I told piggy about it before we started and he agreed, with some arm-twisting.
I wasn't just ignoring the rules. The "change pro player" page errors on me. Geeze man.

And what you regard as "my problem" is in fact "ITST's problem". The intergrity of the gameplay doesn't exist in a large portion of the matches here. I have talked to over 10 users now who experience what i'm talking about. And i'm sure its more widespread than reported because many users don't realize what's happening. They just get slaughtered and think they suck. And I'm NOT saying that doesn't happen fairly sometimes.

I recently played a match where i could get to almost no balls the opponent was hitting because all my balls were feeble and his player was very fast. MikeFare. He's a good player. But he's not THAT good. He even complained about having his player move fast one game, then moving very slow the next (while GAMESPEED stayed the same). So we both agreed to rehost match. WE did. And while the game speed remained the same, his player slowed down, and my shots suddenly had more power, was a close match. So the issue is completely random but very very, real.
