VTR Open Chile

Guys, we need a few more sign-ups for this one. This is a Clay tournament. Slow surface means longer rallies, which I think is a great practice for players needed improvement in that area. It is a small tournament, yet carries 250 points. So even a single win will bring you 20 points.

Quarterfinal:

Ugadalou (Almagro) vs. Indiantonike (Djokovic) 7-5/7-5

A closely contested match as the score shows.
In fact I think I only won mainly because I got most of the important points. This was our first official encounter but we've had some practice sets and Indian's style was very different this time.I expected an opponent who plays risky all-offense tennis going for the lines but instead he was a much better defender, patiently waiting for his chance to attack. He got broken at the end of both sets and especially in the second I think he was 2 holds of serves away from taking it.
Better luck next time, it was a very tough match to begin the tournament as well as the clay mini-season and now an even tougher encounter with MichaelD in the semis!

Richie (Verdasco) vs MichaelD (Djokovic) : 6-2/6-2

Final with MichaelD, it was close until 2-2 where Michael began to make some mistakes at important times and from this moment I was able to get a lead on the match and to dominate until the end, thanks to some surprising attacks with Verdasco and also thanks to some of his errors of placement which made him make some bad faults.
I am happy to win my first title in 250, I really enjoy playing on clay and I hope I will be able to continue like that.

Nice result Richie ! Beating Michael on a final with such a score is a good accomplishment :)
You did in a few months what I was never able to achieve in 2 years on TS4 and TE : winning a title

Congrats Richie. Another title for grande Fernando Image.
If possible I would like to see a bit of the final match. Verdasco - Đoković sounds interesting.
