Clog (Nadal) def. Raskolnikov (Federer) 6/0 6/3
Raskolnikov had a lot of trouble dealing with the latency in the first set. It wasn't impossible to play but we both had difficulties finding the right place to hit the ball. Shots weren't clean from both sides so I basically tried to play with variations slice/topspin to avoid long rallies. Not much more to say about the first set.
In the second one, he started to feel better with the latency and became more agressive. However, I had an early break occasion at the very beginning of the set, and I could lead 3/0. Then, his strikes started to be cleaner, he took more risks and made a little less unforced errors, a little more winners. He even had some breakpoints at 4/2, but I finally won the game.
So in conclusion, I think he may need a little more practice online in order to deal with the latency when it becomes a little higher than usual, because his difficulties definitly helped me. However, considering what I saw about his offensive skills, the future looks pretty bright for him if he practices.
