Newport should be used. Finally a nicer draw for me again, although the amount of Federer's is still pretty high for a 250 tournament. ;)

Perfect Ace, now we have our match, but I am a super rookie, be clement please. :)

VMoe, you could be my opponent in the quarter, but I really doubt, to beat perfect ace....

Check the match rules sticky here : http://intertopspintour.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16808 .

By default, always the dedicated tournament court included. If both player agrees to use another court, you may then find a court with matching surface physics (see color codes in the surface/tournament list)

Newport court has a pretty good cam btw.

Just had my 1st TE victory against Marco_Theo_81, 7-6,6-2. After a 1st set without breaks where he was serving very well and managed to score a lot of aces, I could win 8-6 after saving 1 set point in his serve.

In the 2nd set he lost focus in his serve and I could break him twice. Serving at 5-2, he had chance to give back one break, but I could play well the important points to have the victory.

Thanks Marco for the fair match. Hope to see you improving in the tour.

Hey :)

Thanks for this report. Yes that set point was close. Had to win it.
It maked a lot of fun, really. Can't wait to practice with C4ill, Elias and also Elio and many others. And you of course you PerfectAce!
The second set wasn't focussed at all for me, but you played better, yes.

But the timing and aiming was so strange, really. I aimed like I aim offline, but then the balls went always out. So different. Also online against Elias in two friendlys and against Eliomelma the timing wasn't so different. Maybe because of the distance.
Brazil and Switzerland are very far. Don't know.

But TE is so great, Elio, that one message you wrote me, to makes me attentive to TE, I have to frame.

Last question.... Please, I need a tutorial, how to answer serves, so hard...
I just see the balls fly over my head I think to myself:
How the Firuli Firula can I answer this? Am I so bad in reaction? 31 years... old old man.. ahi ahi...

Hi mate. IMO, receiving is key to become a good player in this game. In fact, I need tips to... :D

My reactions are bad either.

There is a nifty trick to help you return better, but this needs probably to change your habits and some time to get used to and get enough benefit form it. It's called Autopos, still we are playing with low autopos settings, but this still can help you return more serves, especially when they are not very good placed ones.

The autopos feature in TE is a game mechanic wich moves your char a bit when you push your shot button, to help positionning your char better, it works during the rallies, but also can be used for receiving. Still it will not move your char enough to reach the ball most of the time, but will give you this little + wich makes possible to reach more of them when you'll get used to.

Firstly, i standed very far from the baseline when i didn't knew how to use it, now i'm using more or less the default positionning where TE places your char for returning or just a bit further sometimes, but not that much.

- Don't start to move before the ball quit the racket of your opponent. It's important now avoiding moving left/right during the ball toss because of the left/right speed conversion (inertia) wich will prevent you to recover if you were just moving in the opposite direction before the serve starts.

- Push (any , accel, normal, top spin, doesn't matter wich one) a shot button/key at the very end of the ball toss, when your opponent racket hits the ball, and your char will start moving in the right direction. It's not a large move, more like a step, but it will give you that fast reaction time wich is lacking. And then you will continue the movement yourself with your arrow key to reach the ball.

With some experience you'll even be able to choose the right shot on the fly when the ball reaches your char (slice is usefull for more reach in very difficult situations).

So, to summarize : push (short tap) a shot key at the end of the ball toss => your char starts moving, then release this key and manually continue to move in the right direction, hit a shot key again then to execute your return.

A push as in a single tap or hit and hold the button?

A single tap i think is enough but i can't say really, still it's a very short time if it's not a tap, because if not you shouldn't be able to move right or left to continue the movement holding a shot key. Try it in an offline match and just watch your char start moving until you get a good feel of how this is working :)

More like a very short hit and hold the button from my experience, but I've started practising this -- in my opinion rather unrealistic -- tactic just yesterday. Since I don't think there will be a rule against it, I'm learning it.

I just practised it a bit and it does make a difference. I was trying out a similar tactic the other day cause i did see the character prepares for the return before the serve has been played. I kept holding the button though. So i never got enough reach to either side.

Wow, this made a big difference in my match versus San99. I did not loose 6-0 6-0. :P Not being sarcastic by the way. Was a fun match.

And Raonic's second win on the ITST TE Tour is sealed (San99 won the first match as Raonic if I looked it up correctly): 6-1, 6-2 for VMoe86 (Raonic) against Goroger1 (Federer).

Since Goroger1 does not have much time to play and practice I took it more easily after leading 5-0 in the first set: For example I hit almost only b1 and b2 shots and almost all the time b2 serves afterwards. He got better the longer the match lasted and it resulted it some nice rallies. Hope it encourages him a bit. :)

In the first set I played properly, did not lose a single point on serve, served at 118mph average first serve speed and 88%. Raonic's serve is quite a beast and that was only with b1 serves. For matches in which I need some more of those bombs at over 130mph I will use more b1+b2 serves.
