As expected, my journey here ends early: tonigno (Federer) beats VMoe86 (Gulbis) 6-4, 6-7, 7-6. Sorry djarvik, no win for Gulbis -- but it was close.

I had more points in the whole match, I won the majority of the long rallies (of which there were not too many), but with the slow Gulbis it was just not possible to break him, although I played the one break point I got in the third set badly: I hit a drop shot, into the net. So many options and I choose that one, Gulbis-like.

He served well and with it he could go for the one-two punch on most of his service points. Will post stats and the .dmo file later. Just a little info: Fastest serve 137 mph, average 1st serve speed 121 mph and average 2nd serve speed 112 mph. ;)

Thanks! It's becoming boring to play against b1+b2 servers, though, because that serve should only be possible 5 out of 100 times -- but no one here is publically mentioning how unrealistic average 1st serve speed of 124 mph or 121 mph with around 70% 1st serves in are.

Anyways, I'll keep it up -- every tournament a new character! Murray to win Wimbledon. :devil

Here are the stats (didn't have time before):

Yeap sorry i'm a bit late with changes but it's pretty well advanced already, didn't finished with all character serves.

If you want to have a try with it, set Federer to 68 power / 65 consistency, and djokovic to 67 / 63. With such values i'm getting around 60-70% firsts in a match (using b1+b2), with around 117-119 mph average, and 128-130 max. a b1 serve being slower then, around 95 - 110 mph.

Still in progress .. i'm using the formulas Manu gave me in the PLayers thread, and matches stats i can find around on the net (usopen / wimbly / rg websites), testing it ingame as well.

It would be a good idea. My match in AEGON was just an ace battle. Federer serving at 220 Km/h regularly it´s unrealistic.

Elias, what do you think about lowering the service power and precision and increasing consistency? You would have a better power average without a fantastic top speed, but people might have to think better before going to the lines on 1st serve...

well no we have to maintain a consistency <= power. Because how the game mechanics works, to maintain a max first serve %.
That is, in TE, if serve power = serve consistency, you have around 70% chances of success on a b1+b2 serve.

So, lowering power obviously yes, but also changing all consistencies to be, equal, or lower (how much will depend on real players average firsts serve %) than power, to enforce a 70% (or lower) first serves average max during a match. The characters will be differenciated with their precision then, Federer still having a high precision compared to some other chars, as an example.

Setting up high consistencies (much higher than power) , the way the game works, you would end with 80-90% firsts, and also, even lowering power, the firsts speeds will most of the time reach the high speed boundaries tied to this power :)

Oh, I thought that consistency would just keep the average speed high or low, while precision would determine the "in/out" percentage of risk serve. So, to be honest, I didn´t understand the precision´s role in the mechanis of the game.
