:o  :P  :!:  Congratulations!! What a victory! I think that from this score TWM lost the most, because Elias said that if he win again in 5 set match, he will give TWM wo. :D But now he have to face the Teminator!  So be ready for this TWM, he is coming to terminate you!

Wow, good victory Caill. I figured you would give trouble to Elias after our match. You are playing very well at the net with Llodra. But a come back like that... :tu

Congratulations!

I think C4iLL does well at exploiting players standing too far behind the baseline, which is what a S&V player should be able to do. I also like to do it in TE Vanilla against those standing very far behind the baseline (I'm using a puncher there with 30% spin, always playing with realistic mode). Elias can play well close to the baseline, but I think he is more comfortable playing a bit more behind.

Even though C4iLL was not ok with the discussion last night in the chat (about Llodra's baseline game), I do not think the result had anything to do with Llodra being now a bit better. Such matches are decided in the head, as most matches in tennis are. When I see such results, I am excited and feel happy about our tour, so good luck to him -- now he will need kind of a miracle to beat Fox, who is mentally one of the strongest (if not the strongest) we have on our tour. :)

When I saw the draw and saw Elias in my quarter, I told myself "interesting draw, I know he has a lot of difficulties against SV ; if we both reach quarter, I will have my chance".

Something to notice also that I've never experienced before on the TS4 tour : after having played such a close 5 sets match, I feel tired !

It's really exhausting as in real life. And Elias, with 2 close 5 sets matchs played before, several match points saved, then didn't come in the best mental conditions. While he played 15 exhausting sets in a row, I was clearly more fresh in terms of mental. I think that has a big impact for your fighting spirit, especially when you have to play another tie-break against a SV after another 1 hour match.

Yeah you're right. The race for the Barclays final has begun and it's a pretty good operation then ;)
I think you have a chance against Kyuji, he doesn't like playing against SV as Elias ;)

kyuuji (Djokovic) vs. Ugadalou (Fish) 6-3/6-2/6-1

Wow.Well I was simply blasted off the court tonight under the NYC lights and my campaign here comes to an end rather disappointingly.kyuuji was simply the better player today and made sure to prove so.
We were holding serves until 2-2 in the first where I had 2 chances to break him but failed to do so and then it was all downhill. It was like these bp shook him up, so after that he found his rhythm, raised his level and made my life very difficult.
I felt there was nothing I could do.I usually look for a working tactic and figure out an effective gameplan against the opponent but there was none for me in this match. At first I tried to hit through him, as this style is in my comfort zone.It was nearly impossible to hit a clean winner and I felt too slow on court so I tried other tactics:moved him around, spin more, slice, rush the net.Nada.Nothing worked he had an answer every time so my defeat came naturally. The only thing I could rely on was my serve, which gave me a lot of free points and also managed to save a lot of break points with big serves.
Take a look at the percentage of rallies won,the numbers are shocking. :?

The ITST TennisElbow no.1 has returned and he's in better shape than ever, so good luck to the player who faces him in the final!

All in all, I'm happy with my results in the US Open and it was great reaching the semis in such a competitive tournament, but I really wanted to give kyuuji a tough match today.I'll keep practicing and return better next time. :)

FOx vs C4iLL : 7-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Main stats :
- 6 break points opportunities for me, 1 scored (on 4 games) ; 5 for him, 3 scored (on 4 games).
- I made 6 double faults, 4 in the first set...
- 26 aces for him, 24 for me.

First set : no opportunity for us until tie-break. The tie-break was pretty strange : I made a double fault, I came back ; I made a new double fault, I came back ; he served for set, I saved it ; I get back to 6-6.
But I made a stupid mistake and he won the tie-break 8-6...

Second set : I was very motivated at the beginning, I break, and he never got back (a lot of services on the lines and aces for me). 6-4.

Third set : very balanced set until 3-2 where he broke me. My confidence failed a bit and he broke me another time : 6-2.

Fourth set : I began it as in the second, as a warrior. I was about to break, it was 15-40. He had a lot of pressure on the first break point, I was dominating the exchange but I missed an easy winner... 30-40. Ace. 40-a, he saved his service.

Just after this missed opportunity, I was a bit angry, and he broke me... End of the match. Even if I put a lot of pressure on his service, he played at a very high level and was impossible to break.

Congratulations to him, perhaps I even played better than against Elias, but it wasn't sufficient : he's very intelligent and has a big mental. I think he's ready to win his first gran slam ! :c
Personally I'm very happy with the level I currently have ;)

Had a bit time to post all my matchs of US Open in the TE Media Center for people interested.
Concerning my match against C4iLL here are the stats:

I was waiting for a tough match just like all my previous tour. I was expecting some tight sets and early tie break which happen in the first set. We were together sticking to our serves and i knew i'll had to make the difference in the tie break in order to lead the score. C4iLL was playing pretty perfectly on his serve untill the tie break were he made big mistake giving me the upper hand.

But this loose didn't disturb him that much as he prevailed and took an early break where i wasn't able to catch up. C4iLL engagement were to good, on 1st and 2nd serve. It was simply impossible hoping to have break points

I knew third set would be determinant. I won the first set shortly, and he proved me that he isn't going to let me an open road. I had to speed up where i was able to return much better. Short return, and few passing shots gave me the advantage where i was able to break two times.

And then, just like him i kept the pressure where i was able to get an early break. Getting another one was impossible but this only one was enough for me to lead and win the match.

Always interesting to face a SV cause actually C4iLL is the only player on the tour using perfectly that art.
IRL, there are very rare players who can succeed with and C4iLL reaching the semis of US Open is a big thing for SV player and for himself, i think he could be proud.

Seeking for my rematch against Kyuuji, hope that i would not let my chance pass this time. Loosing in three sets against the master was pretty hard to take especially i've done a great grass season. I hope i could give him some hard work and why not steal the win. Just like Murray as Vmoe notice it ^^

My conclusion for tonight will be congrats again for C4iLL !!!

TWM-Fox def. Kyuuji 6-1 2-6 6-3 4-6 7-6

Definitely the best match of my career.

Well first set, I was not in the match at all, making stupid errors, double faults etc..
Then the 2nd set, I could not give him the match as it is the final of US Open, so I tried to come back in the match and finally came back to 1 set all.
Then 3rd we were bought fighting, there were some good points and finally he got the break to conclude 6/3.
4th set, my turn to dominate the match leading 5/1, confidence came back but well starting making errors, double faults he came back to 4/5 but not enough to get the set.
Last set was the big battle, we were both playing really well, I got the break in the begining of the set, leading 3/1, I saw the win but well, I should have been more concentrated and he managed to come back to 3/3.
He got some match points, I had pressure, but I started serving well to come back to 5/5.
I think this last set would have ended as a 7/5 for him, thanks to his stupid error so I could manage to bring him to the tie break.
Bad for me, I forgot to put Tie Break in the last set ! So I had to rehost, well in my opinion it was an advantage for me as I could have my stamina back, but well too good in the Tie Break.
At last, I could say he completely deserve this match as he was dominating all match, I had no issue it was very hard after a very bad begining I manage to come back but against him it wasn't enough.
Congrat for his first GS.

Congrats Fox for the title, taking revenge for Wimbledon where you thought that you could not defeat kyuuji, but you showed always great mental strength and a good tennis brain when you had to. Also congrats to kyuuji, you made all three major finals, the ones you lost were over five sets -- so close to winning all of them, but I'm sure you are happy about the competitive level on the tour now. :)

Here are the match stat up to the final tie break:
The final lasted 1:44

First of all congrats to Kyuuji who was absent for a while a made is big return reaching US Open final. I think he was the big favourite of this tournament. 3 GS final in a row and his name on the Wimbledon Trophy , i definitely was the outsider.

I'm pretty happy with my game in that tournament. Had a lot of troubles against Elias, VMoe those past few weeks and suddenly against Robbin in my last masters final. Seeing the draw for the first time i knew my way in this tournament would be exhausting.

Facing Algo in my first match, struggling against the raising Knight being lead 2 set 0, and finally facing the greatest Elias in SF all have been big challenges. But aside the fact those match were tiresome, i think they all gave me experience, more mental and big preparation for this final. Of course Kyuuji was more fresh but i think was more prepared to face a 5 set match just like i wanted for Wimbly final.

I guess chances are simply turning. Kyuuji won Wimbledon without loosing a set, great tournament, great win. I made big match in this tournament, and i ended with a dream match.

Unfortunate he forgot to set the tie break in the final set, where i was expecting an interesting last game as i managed well my stamina expecting for a long battle. For the rest, well i think Kyuuji has already all sum up.

Just like VMoe predicted the Olympic Gold Medalist won US Open final, deja vu ?
Concerning another prediction, Djocker won RG and Wimbledon, but this time Fed stopped him ;)

For now, i think i'll need a long break. Big gap from Wimbly to Flushing Meadows, where level increased a lot a quickly, and where a lot of talented players join the tour.
