French Open - Roland Garros 2013

Let's start a thread for RG :)

Dont forget, no Tie-Break in the 5th set.

Please don't forget to record your matches if possible, it's now very easy using the ingame recording feature. There is video makers out there wich will probably enjoy making some highlights vids from this RG edition. Also would be nice to publish some matches videos from 1.14 gameplay. You can post your .dmo with the "upload attachment" feature right in this thread along with your match reports (if the .dmo file is too large and the forum does'nt accept it, just .rar it before posting), or in the forum media section, like you wish. Overall, it's always better to have a match replay available, even if you don't intend to post it. If you meet any issues with cheesy play, rules infringements, or CRC issues, the tournament host will mostly always ask for a .dmo of your match for evidence.

Image

Also a stat screenshot is always welcome and informative for us, especially the second stat screen wich contains informations about the short/medium/long rallies distribution, and average rally length, along with stamina bars.
It's very easy to do with Tennis Elbow : at the end of the match, use the F11 key, each time you hit F11, TE saves a
screenshot .bmp image in your Tennis Elbow folder, you can then upload this picture to any host (like noelshack, imageshack etc) and post it here.

gl to all contenders and have fun

Yeah please publish some reports, even those who are ranked 100th, don't be shy 8)

About the draw, well, I'm happy not to be in the worst part for the first time in 2013. This low part one is the most hardcore draw since the beginning of the ITST tour I think with VMoe, Cerji, Vramvrim, Butcher, Sedas, Inseedious and the leader of the race.

I have added a Poll in the opening post with the Top 8 from the Race this season (counting Madrid points) and the option for "Someone else". As C4iLL has pointed out, the lower half is like a half from hell: AlexJasmins, butcher, Cerji, Richie1308, Vramvrim and myself are all there, then also inseedious, Sedas, Uga -- so difficult to make a prediction!

My draw, the worst I had this season, I think. An early meeting with butcher in R16 if we both manage our opponents (and not just that, also the distance to them ;)).

No, I'm in the other part of the draw ! But considering how difficult it is to me to get used to 1.14, that doesn't matter...

Thanks, fixed it in my post! Well, I think everyone will have some difficulties, even those responsible for it.

Re: French Open - Roland Garros 2013

Postby J. Grilo » Sun, 02 Jun 2013 23:40

Okay, i will start then:

J. Grilo (Federer) vs. perrera vamos (Nadal) (3:6, 6:4, 7:6 [7], 6:2) ; Time in "Real-Life": (3:10'37)

Directly in the beginning, i've lost my serve. It was the only break in this set, i wasn't able to break his serve, even i had some changes. His serve made me some problems, they weren't really fast, but had much slice into, so i couldn't return clean often.

In Overall, i tried to shot into his backhand to disable his strong / Top Spin Forehand; wasn't easy. On 5:4 i broke him and i won the 2. Set.

It was a really equal match, especially the 3. Set. He broke me, but i made a re-break immediately. In 6:5 i had 2 setpoints, but couldn't make it, so it went to the tie-break. It was constant coming and going and he had a setpoint too. Somehow, i won this set with 9:7 on Tie-Break. A little time before the TB, the stamina began to be a problem for us; until the end. The third set was very exciting to me and it should be a little preliminaries.

The 4. Set hadn't the quality anymore, like the sets before. The stamina intensified it, i guess. I had the feeling, that perrera lost his motivation a little bit, so i was pretty fast 4:0 in front. But the last four games were more tight again.

Personally, it was the best match so far, i was into.

Nice achievement, perrera had good results recently :)
About stamina, this would confirm the issue is still not solved :/

Did Federer won 63% of long points over Nadal? And Nadal won more short points. Thats strange.

J. Grilo (Federer) vs. AlexJasmins (Murray) (4:6, 2:6, 3:6) Time in "Real-Life": (1:50'19)

Overall i can say, that this was a game of wasting chances. I had 7 break points only in the first set, but he reacts always very cool and smart. On the other hand, he needed only 1 break point to win the set.

1. set
Image

The 2. set was pretty one-sided. My serve is to predictable at the moment, which is why i had most of the time problems keeping my serve. He always took his chances and succeed - congratulations for that!

2. set
Image

The 3. set was little tighter again and i took his serve for the first time, but it wasn't enough.

3. set
Image

Personally, i thought the result would be more clear, but i had my chances. But he was still little better; more precision, faster to the ball, better reactions. We had much less rallies like my last match, so we hadn't problems with stamina.

Maybe next time.

Result overall [1/2]

These stats Grilo look like the same stats VMoe had before he became a great player on the tour. 1 break point converted out of 12 was really the key of your match, I think it's not far from being a record :c Professionnal players say we learn more from defeats than victories, you know what you have to do then ;)

Thanks for the compliment :).

Yes, the result would be different, when i had used my chances more. But i think, that's also a question of experience ^^. Hehe, it will be pretty hard to undercut that 8% :D.

All right move aside people. It is my turn. :D

Uchiha Muss (Monfils) vs Don (Youzhny) (6:4, 6-4, 4:6, 6:4) IRL Time 1:15'13

No offence to Don but it was a very easy match without getting nervous for a second. The first set came and go.
I had it. In the middle of the 2nd set I suddenly got bored. So I moved monfils well into the court for 2nd serves.
Brought him close to the baseline on 1st serve as well. I was really confident in my serve and I wasn't mistaken. My serve backed me up pretty good.
So the 3rd set began. It was all okay and then I flopped. Poof 3rd set slipped away. In the 4th set I still didn't want to give up my amusement and kept myself close to the baseline. 3-3 and I decided play time was over. Went back to some
logical position and resumed the show. Soon I broke him and held my serve. And so was the story of mine on the R64 of this Roland Garros 2013.
