Hot Laptop = problems

Postby Fez » Fri, 28 Jun 2013 04:21

So, I think I finally figured out "The Issue" My laptop gets hot and performs poorly! It makes sense! All the times where i experienced the issue was after I had played awhile! when I start playing, computer is cool and no issue!!!

So far, this is proving true. We'll see.

If this makes no technical sense, tell me so I can burst my bubble and set back to work on a solution.

How the hell do you know it's getting hot? Do you put the laptop on your lap and then play? Mine stays in a cardboard and the only heat I know of, comes out from the fans by the side of laptop.

If it's getting hotter than usual, then the problem is of course some component is being forced to release its juice. I think you should look into this Game Booster. It closes all unnecessary stuff and leaves just enough to play games.

I used it in the past with slow netbook, but now I have a powerful gaming laptop so I don't feel the need for it. By the way this software is from safe source.

Happy to see you may have pointed the issue.

I'm not surprised about it cause i can remember a mate @ dream match tennis who had the same type of issue using a laptop. The thing was heating and starting to lag, but that was graphic lags, slowdowns. In dmt it didn't translated in slow/floaty play but simple slowdowns/sluttering from his side, and from the opponent side, one could see him warping (cause in DMT online play, both players are not "synced" to a fixed delay like in TE).

Dektop PC and ethernet ftw

As Uchiha said, be sure your laptop can "breath" enough from the back, not laying on a cloth or so, there always need to be some space between the laptop back and the surface where it's installed. If it's not enough, well.. then you'll probably face a problem ... heating is often an issue with laptops unfortunately. I guess there is laptops dedicated to gaming wich are better cooled, but costs an arm and barely come close to a desktop in the cooling area.
