Richie1308 (Gasquet) def. Vramvrim (Djokovic) 7-5 6-1 6-4

Not that much to say actually, the match was long and tiring even with this score. We have almost the same way of playing, but he did everything a little better than me, not afraid of targetting the lines especially, so in the end he was naturally the winner. Of course since we know each other very well, the rallies were very, very long, I was feeling like playing in 1.13 actually. At the end of the first set, we had only 50% of our stamina bar left, I think.

First set was pretty close, we held serve until 4-4, then he broke me and served for the set. I managed to debreak him and got at 5-5 30-0 on my serve. Here I don't remember what happened, but I think I lost the next 8 points.
Downfall followed in the next set, I felt like it was impossible to hit a winner. I was quickly led 0-4, lost the set 1-6.

Same trend in 3rd set, not able to hit proper winners. Got broken (0-2), managed to get the debreak (1-2), then lost my serve again. At 1-4, he got at 30-40 on my serve, I thought it would be quite an ugly scoreline and tried my best to fight back. I switched to a defensive style of play (which I don't really like) and won the point in a 40+ shots rally, then held my serve.

He held too and I was down 2-5, 0-30 on my serve again. I managed to hold to make him serve for the match, where I somehow saved 4 match points and broke him. But I was only delaying the outcome for a few minutes, he played great points on my serve, I made a bad unforced error and he won the match on his 6th match point.

Congrats to him, he was better and I wasn't clutch enough in key moments like end of the first set. I felt like my serve was quite useless too, leading to endless rallies (average rally length : 10.9). Good luck to him for the final, though his opponent may need it more.

Final Richie (Gasquet) def. Florian (Djokovic) 6-2 6-3 7-6

Quick post to say Richie played really consistent there, very few moments where he didn't play world class tennis which gave me a lot of trouble taking profit from the few occasions i had. But I was still disappointed because I unfortunately had trouble focusing on the ball, meaning I mostly started to react when the ball reached my side of the court. That's something I was worried about since my SF vs Pigrosofo where I wasn't reacting at a satisfying level either. I couldn't focus more in that 1st set so I logically lost by 2 breaks without any occasion to break back.

Still that quick set put me on my nerves and I tried to motivate myself from the start of the 2nd set and it worked since I could play a bit quicker and more aggressive, and took the lead for 2-0 and then 3-1. At that moment we both played same level, I had a 0-30 lead on his serve but didn't return well and I knew that would put me into some trouble later. Definitely was the case when i started to hit several UEs in a row on my serve games, so he broke back and once more after that.

So that was a disappointing set since I felt pretty good there and lacked of consistency...while he didn't, convering 2/2 bps if I'm correct.

3rd set was a good battle, definitely some great points there especially when i faced bps, but once more couldn't take profit from the few occasions I had...so he logically took the tie-break.

Congrats to Richie, he was my favourite for the tourney and deserved 100% to win it, I was just disappointed not to be able to play at my best during the whole final because it might have been a bigger thriller, since I was not reacting quick enough, I couldn't do what I'm best at : grinding, and that costed me a lot vs what could be the best player on tour right now.

Anyway GG and GL on grass !
