Sign-up is now open two weeks in advance.

Hi guys,

I want to bring to your attention that now you will be able to sign-up/commit to tournaments extending to two weeks in the future.

If you unsure of your availability, you can wait and sign-up at the later time, but keep in mind that tournaments spots are limited to the draw size, when the draw is full - we will start the tournaments.

The main reason behind this change (trial at this point) is to attempt to start the tournaments earlier by releasing the draws earlier. Our aim is to release the draws that are full on Friday night. If the draws are not full, the tournament will be open for sign-up until Sunday night/Monday morning.

The main benefit of this is to allow a few extra valuable weekend days to play the tournaments. This should help alleviate some of the scheduling problems when it comes to time differences.

I think main issue here is that tournaments are ending much later than they should, hope this helps in that too.

Do you mean because of extended deadlines or do you think rounds in general are too long?

Meant extending deadlines, rounds last more than enough for matchs to be played.
Extra day, should be extra day, not 3 days and I've seen that.

The thing is that rounds close to the final usually have a 2-day deadline which can be difficult to arrange a match-plus guys playing finals have probably 2-3 more matches pending which makes it even harder to have enough time.

I understand that because in 1st rounds the match-ups are more and there a lot of matches to be played, it makes sense to give more days. But maybe we should balance the days-allowed between first and final rounds.

Tournaments take longer to finish than expected because in most cases it is a match in the latter rounds (SF/F) that takes too long to be played and it is also difficult for the host to give a W/O in a semifinal or a final. Thus we have this result.

So I suggest we take 1-2 days off the first rounds (if we got tournaments to start earlier that would be even better-no loss of days) and extend the deadlines of latter rounds. All that with the hosts being more strict about deadlines so that we have no longer than 1-2 days difference of the schedule.
