Camera Issue

Postby J. Grilo » Fri, 23 May 2014 13:52

Hi all,

since the new update from manutoo today, the camera bars seems to be "bugged". It doesn't matter how i scroll, i can't put the camera into the "bird's-eye view", it's always pretty skewed. It seems that the zoom bar and height is the same. Also when i scrolled, sometimes the camera doesn't move.. Any tips here?

Don't know if it's a manutoo's bug or an ITST mod bug. I also have the same problem. The 3d camera seems to be the same than 2D camera, if you change the court you will get another 3d camera (i just tried RG, Rome, and Montecarlo, for me the last one is the closest to the default 3d camera)

i got back home a few time ago, will have a check at this. i guess it's probably more something mod dependant, as the vanilla cam menu had some changes in previous TE version already. Strange this only impacts customcourts though, i just hope not having to update all court.ini definitions. Anyway i'll have a check and when a workaround is ready i'll upload an updated 1.16.

Yeah, there were some changes in court, like chairman and line judges customization, so it can be a matter of different files and differents mod methods needed. I read manutoo saying something to modders in his new version thread.
Anyways, thanks a lot for all your help, elias :)

Well i did several tests and i've posted some msg about it to Manutoo, i'll wait for his answer. To me it doesn't seems modding related regarding my tests. To summarize, as soon as there is a 2D custom camera defined for a court, then the issue/bug appears with 3D view and sliders behaviour, wich never happened and theorically shouldn't. That means currently i could not restore a normal 3D view behaviour for any court, without removing the 2D cam defines, thus killing the geometry for the 2D court, so modding courts wouldn't be possible :p
I also used a simple custom 2D cam on a vanilla court, and this leaded to the same issue in 3D mode, so i think it's not tied to sprites or models positionning. Some 2D variables seems messing in 3D mode where there shouldn't be any interaction between this two modes.

Will wait for Manutoo answer and a possible fix i guess.

So are you telling me that, while waiting for a workaround, deleting the 2d court (for example rg chatrier) will let me correctly play in 3d?

Well yes for now i'll wait for an answer and a fix (if i'm not wrong with it).

If you know what you're doing yes, you can DIYourself. just removing the whole [camera] section in a court.ini, the 3D sliders seems to behave properly.

Thank you, it will save me for some days

EDIT: manuto release a new version, and from what i read on the changelog, it seems he fixed our problem. I'll check asap
EDIT2: yeah it fixed it, thanks god

However, since we are talking about camera issues, I happily noticed that 2 big problems were solved:
1) now the 3d camera follows the ball toss on both the court sides (previously, when playing vs high toss players like berdych, if your camera was a bit zoomed or not enough high, the toss went out of the camera on one side, while being followed by the camera on the other side of the court);
2) there are no more top screen writings, like "1st serve", they're back just at the bottom-right corner, as it should have been.
