How is this Game compared to the latest Full Ace Version?

Postby o Sinna o » Sun, 26 Aug 2012 17:36

Tell me if you can, thx.

Just have to know if I gotta try this one out too.

It seems you regard Tennis Elbow 2011 more than Full Ace if you look at the Topics in both Forums and I think Full Ace is really great.

So is Tennis Elbow even better?

Just look at videos, these games are clearly not in the same category ^^
The ball is just not realistic at all in Full Ace for instance.

I was never really a big Fish in the ITST. The greatest Time I had with a Tennisgame was the Top Spin 1 Time.

I mean I played a few petty Matches in the ITST but I never played any strong competitive Role while doing that.

I could never bring up the same Passion for a Tennisgame after Top Spin 1.

And I think it wasn't the fault of the Top Spin Developers trying to make the Series more realistic, but rather the Fact that the Gameplay didn't catch me enough to throw in the same effort as in the old Times and maybe because the Series never had the same great Spirit after TS1 again.

Maybe also because Top Spin 1 came in a Time where such a great Videogametennisexperience with everything TS1 had to offer, didn't exist before.

It was just a sporty and fresh Game with a great Overall-Package at that Time what motivated me for a really long Time, especially for a Consolegame.

Man in those Times I really thought about on every new Day which Ingame-clothes I should wear for the new Day and my Character on the court while playing against strong Guys. Totally unimportant Gimmicks but I liked them. *lol*

I mean all these litte things I had a Passion for and especially the oncourt experience ofcourse made it so strong. The Game just had Soul.

If Top Spin 5 ever comes out or the next big Tennis Videogamething, I hope they really got something exciting in the bag for us. I mean really something developed with Passion. Something that's made for esports.

And yes I will give Tennis Elbow a Try and load your ITST Patch.
But I really don't know how much effort I am willed to put in the Game.

But hey it's only a Game, if it's not my Thing Life goes on and we see us with the next big Tennis Videogame and a new Try again. XD

Sinna, ill just say one thing. I havent been excited about a tennis game since TS1. I played the following games mainly cause i wanted it to be like how it was. TE11 is the only tennis game that comes close to the excitement level i had with TS1.

ah all right thx, good to know slicer. Cool someone almost feels the same way.

I will buy Tennis Elbow 2011 in just a few Minutes and will immediately install the ITST 1.08 Patch after that.

I just have to get a feeling for TE and understand the Hitmechanics, everything else is just Formality for Tenniscrack-Oldies like us. XD

But I guarantee for nothing. Really don't know how long I am willed to put effort in it, because I talked alot about a few Tennisgames in the Past and have spread alot of excitement and Pre-enthusiasm before a few big Titles came out and was one of the first who stoped playing it. ^^

But I will see how it works and how I like it.

hehe yep I mean we don't get younger, but we get better. XD

So just made my Order, will check my email account in the next Minutes.

I let you know what I think about it in the next days.

By the way what I wanted to say. I really appreciate the Consistency a few of you Guys putting in the ITST since Years.

Many Pages or Leagues die fast, but everytime I take a look back on this Page even after a longer amount of time, you are still here.

It's a good thing.

The thing is that TE2011 has a steep learning curve and needs you to invest time in it in order to enjoy it as much as possible.Soon you'll be able to hit most shots, mix them up and play rallies but what takes most time to improve on is the return. At first you'll get aced.A LOT!
I recommend you do not only stick to itst but check the game's World Tour(I suppose you'll need Sam's patch for this, not ITST patch) which has amazing depth and is very addictive.

In general if you play or appreciate real tennis you'll enjoy this game even more, because in terms of realism in footwork and shot selection it's on another level from anything else I've seen.

I hope you enjoy your TE experience as much as I do . :D

Yep ok, I'll see what I can do.

I am just trying it in Trainingmode and didn't know how to place my shots in the first minutes.

But I slowly understood what's behind the machanic after a few Minutes. XD

Have to see how I play lobs and stops.

I can already smell the flavour of the Game. You know it looks so unimpressive if you turn the Game on for the first Time, but the mechanics surprised me already after I only understood a Part of it.

I'll step in it deeper in the next days.

And you are right. Getting destroyed by ITST Members as a Nooby is not the right way to start and I am not a opponent at this point for you Guys anyway.

I'll play the world tour and a few random Onlinematches in the first Days and weeks until I got a real feeling for it.

I will see how long it takes to get acceptable in this Game.

Man Guys you did a beatiful Job with your Engagement for the ITST Mode 1.08.

I am playing the Game the first Time since yesterday and slowly understand the different Hitpossibilities.

It's a long Time ago where I had so much Fun while losing to zero four times in a Row against the Berdich and Gulbis CPU.

This Game has Flavour, didn't expect that a Indie Game inclusive the ITST Mode Engagement could convince me to play Videotennis again, but I am really amused about the Game.

It will take enough Time to get on a good Level but it so unimposing but impressive at the same Time.

Was worth the Money, that's fore sure.

Where Top Spin 4 failed, this Game shines. XD

Why this Game convinces me is because of the great and complex mechanics.

You just have to understand them through the Controlmenu, but if you do it's really pleasing.

This a Reason for Motivation you, and not crappy shiny nextgen HD Graphics with Mechanics from so called professionals, which are widely under the potential you can put in such a modern Tennis Game Development.

I don want to fall to much in hyms of Praise, but it's just surprising hoe good Tennis Elbow works.

As you are just starting to play the game, I suggest you to use all the helpers and ball previews. It will help you to understand better how the game works. As you get your level rising, slowly quit this helpers. Believe me, it really works...

Good luck and hope to see you soon in the tour...

Yep thx, that's what I do and now I understand the Possibilities. I was a lil bit confused with these up, down and middle and buttons combinations, but now I understand it's combined with the alternatestrike I got mapped up on the right Trigger and down on the left Trigger of my wired 360 Controller.

Now I understand how to perform every different Shot through the Controlemenu-Shot-description. ^^

Because at first I thought this up and down combinations are meant doing it by stick, but it wasn't. ^^

If you prefer, you can change the strikes configurations, assigning a single button to do a strike. It makes easier than the up and down thing...

Just go to control options and click remap strikes. There you can choose as you wish.
