How much do TE community suck?

Postby inseedious » Wed, 18 Jul 2012 02:33

I really like ITST TE tour because it is very balanced and full of fair players, but I just can't say the same thing about TE community. I just played about 20 matches outside ITST, but i've never met a fair player. Most of them used drop shots 2-3 times a game and, if it isn't enough, aggressive lob + volley. This is pure laming, because these cheese tacticts are not powerful thanks to strategic aiming and positioning, but just because they exploit unrealistic features of the game (for example high returns after opponent's lobs or dropshots).
I met a 1950 ELO ranked player who faced all my 2 match points with dropshots + net rushing, and then won thanks of a break won with dropshots and unnecessary lobs.
I don't want to judge all TE community after 20 matches, but I want to share my disappointment, because i really hoped that i could train myself playing on TE official build (never found anyone using sam patch) and, why not, earning some ELO points.
However, ITST mod is perfectly scripted and balanced, so it isn't a bad loss :)

Ciao

I played not many matches with other TE players outside ITST. If I try a match online, then in free mode, but nearly every time my opponent has 95-100% stats values. This because, just so, I can keep my officials ITST values.

Not so a funny thing...

I play explicit offline with pro, level 4 at the moment. With good results.

Thanks again Elias for the explication in that new post, how to read and answer better the serve. But this is my weakest point...

Inseedious, we should play sometime. :)

alla prossima
ciao

Hi all,

actually i have no idea, to face this methode. It doesn't matter what i do, but the opponents win always the point, when they make a dropshot and come to the net. Unfortunately it has been used relatively often, when they see, they will get me with that methode.

Are there any tips?

In my opinion the best options are to counter the dropshot+net tactic with either a drop shot or a lob.

Defensive lob seems to be a great answer. Works for me every time, assuming I am getting to this drop in time. If I don't - then a drop is too good and the fact the opponent rushes the net has no influence on the outcome of the point. I find re-dropping harder then lobbing.

I have to agree with it, today for the first time I've played someone with ITST and there were actually some longer rallies in the match, not only those short-slices and looking for the aces every single time.

I was talking about TE matches, not ITST TE matches. Here on ITST, 90% of players are fair, 60% are very fair.
