Looking for Tennis Elbow Modders

Postby djarvik » Thu, 23 Feb 2012 16:27

ITST is looking for to fill 3 positions for the upcoming Tennis Elbow Tour. We are looking for people who are capable of Modding the game and helping us produce an official ITST patch for the tour.

Volunteers will become a part of ITST Development group, will receive official titles, corner offices, personal secretaries and a company chopper at their disposal. (unlimited mini-bar can be negotiated)

Please send me a PM if you are capable and interested, this is going to be a fun and engaging project!

If you have any questions, please do ask.

If you are new to Tennis Elbow and Modding, but you are computer savvy and have the motivation to try, read this:

Just wanted to bring to your attention and also welcome the two latest aditions to our TE crew:

Mudhoney - He will help us undertake an ITST TE Patch project as TE Developer. At the moment Mudhoney is our lead developer.

sam250 - Yes. THE Sam from Sam's Patch. He is a long time ITST member that is well known for his TS3 and TS4 facial creations of Pro ATP players. He will take on a consultant role and will continue to work on his Patch, which is great news as ITST Patch will be based on Sam's amazing work.

On behalf of all ITST, I want to thank you guys for donating part of your free time to this project! :tu

P.S. - We are looking to fill one more "TE Developer" place. Anyone interested, please contact me.

So.

I'm in now to help creating an all-in-one ITST patch that will be lighter and easyer to install.

Lighter means also we will probably have to get rid of several 2D courts wich are pretty crappy and are not worth to be kept. I know that having lot of courts is nice, but i will try too keep the best ones, and also include new good ones. My guess is having like 10-20 good courts will be enough for a start. the important thing is to have all the surfaces available, with their varied properties. We can anyway update the patch with new courts later when some nice ones are available.

As for the desyncs : i already created some very light patch with no courts at all, wich we tested already (thus playing with default vanilla courts), but we couldn't find for now where the desyncs are coming from.

For now the best advise we could give when there is unbearable / unplayable desyncs is too re-host or change host, we don't know the reason but it's sometimes fixing the issue. That is.. if both players can host a game obviously.

About the courts (2D or 3D), feel free to post here wich ones are your favorites wich you want to keep from Sam's mod.

Isn't a way to keep all? Too heavy the patch? Never exist a tennis game with all the courts , with this patch we have. Will be a great loss.

Well many courts are blurry / crappy & very bad quality though, those will not be a big loss in my opinion.

At this time more and more modders have acces to Tennis HDTV channels and then, this year they will probably release a lot of very nice 2D HD courts, like hamzafederer who already released some like these :

He already has done Madrid blue clay, and i think he will probably continue to create courts for each tournaments, so we can add future courts in ITST patch.

What i propose is to keep only such high quality courts. Trying to keep quality standards high for the patch.

I prefer to use 3D courts to be honest. If the majority of tournaments to be played only used 2D I think it would be a loss.

Of course not !

There still will be a 2D and 3D version of any included courts, you still choose what version fits you the best, no obligation to play with 2D courts hopefully :)

Just something about 3d court, when i put it #ON# this option, the ball doesnt display anymore with either itst patch and sam patch.

With the vanilla court it works, so do you know how I can solve that ?

hmm.. nope, pretty strange issue.

Try to delete (or better just rename it) the file Data/Models/Textures/ball.tga to ball.old . The game will then use the default ball texture. maybe your ball.tga file is corrupted (?).

Hello all!
First of all I am really sorry because I made 0 appearances since djarvik asked me to play the consultant role, as I slowly realized I really did not have time to do that, having my own patch to work on, and having also my personal life (exams + myself being a junior player, travelling for tournaments). So hopefully I will contribute with my new 2012 patch, let's take it as a contribution to ITST too  as your mod seem to be clearly based on my patch :)
Any questions ect... contact me on managames I will try to answer
