Sorry I am not trying to distract from the topic of the thread but I am really interested in the look of this game, I caught a glimpse of it on you tube and agreed whilst the graphics look rather rugged the simulation potential looks very deep.

Now I have never bought or played a game on the PC since I had an Amstrad computer (green screen cpc464) and therefore at the risk of sounding stupid, I am going to ask anyway:

A) Where do you buy pc games as I am so far removed from this that I wouldn't know where to start, online, shop, download?

B) I have an apple iMac and would this game be compatible or would it have to be a Microsoft system?

C) in this day and age can one use a joy pad (rather than the keyboard) as this must of been the preferred route on Dream Match tennis?

To bring it back on the thread I agree with Floris in that a "wait and see" approach would be best for tennis elbow on the roster. Nevertheless this could be my saving grace following my ts3 depression lull I have been searching to fill !

A) You'll buy the game from their website. There are a few options for payment but the easiest one is by paypal. Paypal.com is a well known payment website. You make an account and transfer some money to that account. Then you spent this money on buying the game from their website. You could even link your paypal account to your own bank account. Then the purchase goes even smoother.

B) You can play the game on a Mac but not play online with it.

C) I havent tested it but am sure you can use a joypad for this game.

Thanks for agreeing with me. Thats a bonus point in my book for you. :P

Guys, you really need to try the game before picking a direction for the tour. You will quickly realize that a path of Pro Roster makes more sense in this game then any other. Of course that doesn't account for a personal preference, but try to think in terms of competition and what it will do to the wonderful character creation in TE. :P

Glad to hear.

The tour is close guys. We are almost set on a roster and once we iron out a few things we will start the sign-up for the Test Tournaments!

Some upcoming features:

- 36 Pros! Balanced and tiered.
- Pick a player for a tournament and it will show up in a draw.
- Full ATP schedule.

...and more!

Those created players will be similar to real as to sam patch, in animations forehand backhand serve? And the court will be as in sam patch? You will create a patch for itst tour full with courts, players , animations et ecc....?

Why not just use sam patch?

First and foremost because the Pro players are within a career mode with no assigned static skills/stats. There are other reasons too though.

I see.

Just as long as Gublis does'nt have 90+ wings in the ITST patch.

Not sure i will have the time to join but i support the idea of creating a TE2011 tour. I bought this game several months ago and never looked back to dmt.

This game has great gameplay and features, and though the first versions were more arcade oriented, now the last version brings a lot of configuration/tweaking features which i think makes TE the best tennis SIM on pc platform. Last but not least, the developper, Manutoo, is listening and sharing with his community and updates the game on a regular basis.

The only drawback for me when i started to play the game online was to find that the player base (community) was mostly sticking with pretty aracadish, or too much easy settings in my SIM fanatic eyes (allowing graphic helpers, sim (not so much) controls etc.
The main setting wich changes the gameplay a lot in this regard is the control type (Aracade / SIM / Elite). Their original Tour is played with "Sim" controls but although they already discussed the possibility to use elite settings, most players wanted to stick with current choices.

I really encourage you people to try the game online using settings like :

Fair or realistic modes (stats wise) + Tiredness On + no preview (visual helpers) + Elite controls mode

i bet sim lovers around will be delighted with those settings and i think these should be promoted if an ITST TE tour is created.

Also don't forget that online "Fair" or "Realistic" modes are mainly used, regarding TE these two modes are stats oriented only, meaning it's setting up some stats max boundaries.

eg : "1- In Fair & Realistic Modes, you need to have 780 points left in your Character Sheet, else the game engine will change your skills to force you to have 780 points left on match start"

it's a bit confusing at start, but what you have to keep in mind is "fair / realistic settings" means character stats adjustment ; and arcade/sim/elite controls settings means more or less character autopositioning feature and
hit window timing tolerance (more ue's in elite mode).

As for direction to go player wise, i think a pro roster custom created and balanced for the tour is a good idea, then using Free skill settings to allow a large variety reflecting strength and weaknesses ( because if i remember well, even if you create a char like Isner with a 95% serve power, the game will anyway remap this skill to 30-80% when using fair/realistic modes).

Or you can just allow totally custom free creations but enforcing the realistic settings mode, wich prevents anyway unrealistic/too strong stats.
