Beginner question

Postby ICEMAN_9588 » Sat, 08 Jul 2017 21:15

Hi guys, I've started to play TE since a few weeks, but there are still things I dont understand about the game.
For instance, I'm having troubles with controls setting.
Before I go on, I have to say I previously used a PS3 controller to play, now I'm trying with my PS4 controller.

But, in particular, I have a doubt: exactly, what does this page means?

What is "Fire 4", "Fire 5" etc?
What's the difference between "Up", "Down", "Center", "Any" etc?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

PS Sorry if it's the wrong section of the forum.

I strongly advise that you use a keyboard when playing this game, it can be a huge advantage. It may be difficult to begin with but when you get used to it the difference is night & day.

Basically, in order to bind a key to a shot, you have to bind each shot to a different "Fire", and then each "Fire" to a key. As concerns the direction, put all to "Any", since it's not optimal to play with direction modifiers (i.e. pressing A+up should not be different than pressing A+down).

Ok, so I need to set any type of shot with "any". Fine, this should make it easier.

But what does "Fire 4,5,6 etc" means?
I mean, what does 4, 5, 6 etc stand for?

They don't mean anything. They are there just to use direction modifiers. Let's say you have Fire 1 bound to A. If you wanna bind Normal Shot to A+up and Short Shot to A+down, you can do that by binding Normal Shot to Fire1+up, and Short Shot di Fire 1+down, of course binding Fire1 to A. Otherwise, it wouldn't be possible to do so.

Anyway, long story short, just put all directions to "Any" and bind every "Fire" (Fire 1, 2, etc.) to each different shot. Then, depending on the association you just made, bind each Fire to a keybind. N.B.: you can consider Fire 1+2 as an independent bind, not just like Fire1+Fire2. I left it set to Acceleration, to be honest.

Problem is, there are no Fire 1, 2 and 3 XD
In the main page of control setting, I only have to set "Button 1, 2 and 1+2" (1,2 and 3 usually correspond to X, O and square button on my controller).
In the second page (when I click on "remap strikes" I have "Fire 4,5,6" etc.

It's pretty normal, it's just a messy window split in two. You have to set the first 2 Fires from the main windows, and the others from the other one.

Yes, I got it after I answered u on the forum.
Now I have pretty much understood the dynamics, but I still have to understand how to set the stop volley LOL

But thanks for your time mate.

Indeed, I got it after I addressed u on the discussion.

Presently I have practically perceived the elements, yet I actually need to see how to set the stop volley Haha

Be that as it may, much obliged for your time mate.
