Auto-Pos revived?

Postby Fez » Mon, 10 Feb 2014 17:30

So, I thought that auto-pos during rallies was done away with a couple updates ago. Then I read Uchi's post and he seemed to indicate it was still available during rallies. What's the truth?

The AutoPosition trick during rallies is not active: If you hold a shot button before your opponent hits a shot, AutoPosition won't work.

Changes :
- Gameplay : AutoPos doesn't trigger anymore if you press the button(s) before your opponent hits the ball during rallies ; note : it still triggers if you press the button before your opponent serve, or if you're at the net

Of course there is still AutoPosition which helps you centering your shots, but you cannot use it to see where your opponent is hitting to. Nothing in that regard has changed.

Last day, sharing some words with Magav, he told me as well, it was still working 'sometimes' during rallies, cause sometimes he can see his character moving automatically. But it's not an autopos flaw in my opinion, but more likely this stupid evil not-optional auto-step back passive feature in action ( like if TE defense was not good enough  , very good movers can still sometimes (hopefully not that often) play 9-10 av.rally length with power = speed +14; = obvious gameplay flaw ? (if we compare to older versions)).

i still think this auto-step back has some flaw, because sometimes i can clearly see the char moving more than a step (and that's when i feel like throwing the keyboard thru the window as much as i hate this). Though i can't reproduce it or understand the exact context.

Auto-pos is 95% gone. Like I said auto-position is everywhere. It's just very negligible.

You can only see it in extremely slow condition.
Like if somebody lobs while you're at the baseline, you can press button and your player walks towards the ball.
Or if the ball lands short, you can see your player moving slowly forward.
After the points is over. If you press button, while the ball is rolling on the ground. Your player will follow it.

By the way, it only works forwards. So most of the time you can't use it. In fast rallies you don't have time anyway.
