topspin 4 vs. tennis elbow

Postby willybeama » Fri, 08 Feb 2013 19:36

Since I can't play the tennis elbow tour, I still play the PS3 tS4 online. Tennis Elbow is so much fun. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than going for a high risk shot, meaning it has a high chance of going out, and making it. The skill of keeping the ball in play while going for shots is part of what makes tennis so thrilling to me. TS4 would be awesome if it could do that. If it took a level of skill to hit risky shots and keep them in than I would be sold. Sadly, it doesn't and by doing that throws the entire physics of the game off. Nearly impossible to hit a shot out while going for a "risky" shot. I had a completely unrealistica 67 shot rally last night, lol. The audience cheered and stopped cheering three times, lol. Because of this Tennis Elbow is heads and shoulders above ts4. It feels like youre actually playing instead of the computer playing for you! Again great job and kudos to the Tennis Elbow team!!!

Yeah you are totally right, that's one of the main reason I stopped TS4 for TE. It's completely stupid to prevent people from aiming the ball where they want, even in the public.

Definitely agree with that, I was playing an exhibition earlier today and I was riskying almost everything because I wanted to know what my level was after 4 months off of the (unmodded) game, I had 14/16 winners/errors in first set but then I kinda started playing better and finished with a positive differential anyway. I think that proves that you actually have to have some "skills" to play (for me, it was about confidence and aiming-timing which I totally lacked of in 1st set).
Lost anyway, 36 76 36

Never had XBOX360 or PS3 so I don't know about TS4, but watching vids is more than enough to see TE is much better in what matters, playability and simulating the actual sport.

I think TE is better than TS4 even regarding graphics and animations, under several points of view. TE animations are fully scriptable and our roster has a huge variety of animations, and they are very realistic and continuously upgraded. When I play TE on my 42'' TV with 2d mode court (the court is a HD photograph of the real court), I can say to everyone that I'm watching some real tennis. Players are very similar to real ones, and the game runs awesomely even on very high resolutions (I also play on my iMac27 with a 2400x1600 resolution), and good anti-aliasing and anisotropic filters (it depends on the graphic cpu) can make textures almost invisible and the game very fluid.

Well i don't know, maybe Ugadalou and C4iLL simply choose the Paris masters court to play their WTF match, it's the same indoor surface. When i used the replay to record a video, it was playing on this court.

If I remember well C4iLL preferred that court,it was Paris indeed.Maybe he wanted to have a home advantage!

If I'd known this would be going to youtube I wouldn't have worn a "France" T-Shirt haha.I went for the colour but never looked at what was written in the back.

Yeah, C4iLL did not like the WTF colour, because seeing the ball was more difficult (especially on return).

Ah yeah this match was interesting with a high level third set if I remember well.
About the court this is right, I didn't see well returns with the WTF so we play them at Bercy.

Anyway Uga, don't be ashamed to wear a french tee-shirt. It just shows you like the greatest thing in the world and have good taste. Don't let anyone critizice your french passion, they understand nothing, especially.... mathematicians
