Struggling!

Postby iBullet91 » Sat, 04 Aug 2012 10:24

Hi

Can somebody give me some advice regarding the power shots. I play mostly normal (not acceleration shots) and easy computers are beating me because I can't hit winners. How often do you guys hit power shots? Most of the time?

I hit power shots and they usually go out

I feel nowhere near ready to join the tour yet :( What level cpu should I be beating before joining the tour?

I hit power shots most of the time when i am good placed.I think that vs cpu with itst roster you should be able to play at least pro 2-3 to be ready. But human players plays with different tactics of the cpu, so you should begin to play training match with Itst guys, many o them are beginnners now. Look the te 2011 chat and you can find opponents and talk about many things about TE.

You should play aganst human people online, because they gonna give you tips after matches (everybody gives advices to everybody it's very friendly !).
On the chat a lot of people play exhibitions, and discussing about the game. It's becoming the best place to increase your level i think.

Personally i've learned a lot by directly playing on the tour and loosing like 6-0 6-1 at beginning as well. Maybe you should try, even if you will loose all your first matches ;)

Elio & C4ill gave you the best advice, play with the community, you can still join the chat and play only friendlies if you feel not ready to play the Tour. Then you'll see that human beings doesn't reach your power shots as consistently as the CPU does :) The CPU has almost always a better defense, and doesn't get wrongfooted as much as humans.

By the way i use mostly power shots and top spin shots, sometimes b1 short crosses.

Also if you get out a lot out using accelerations (whatever you call it b1+b2 is called accelerations in TE), it may be tied to your controller ?

i would'nt advise to use joypad analog sticks, but it's just me. i think it's better with TE use a digital pad if you have one. And moreover i think the keyboard is the easyest controller to get fast improvements with TE.

Ok thanks for the advice.

I will try and get up to pro level first and then play some practice matches against you guys...and probably get thrashed

Yeah I use the xbox controller. You think no good? I find it easier than keyboard!

No just use the controller wich fits you the best. There is many good players using the keybaord but there is also strong ones using a pad (Elio for example), so just play with the controller you're cumfortable with.

Most of the time console gamers will be better with a pad than pc gamers that's all, i've always been a PC gamer so i just feel easyer to play with a keyboard :)

You'll see, if someday you feel caped in your progression, then you may decide to change if you feel you can't improve then. it's what i did some years ago when i started to play another tennis game with a pad for 6 months, then finally switched to keyboard and then could improve my movement much more.
