Is G.S.T.2 being released at the end of this month or Dec. of 2012? On Amazon it says that its Dec. 31, 2012???

It has to be this year, right?

I'm craving an actual 'good' new tennis game with reasonable physics and logical movement!

I'm hoping Amazon is just listing the release date wrong...

HA HA...

I wonder if the current top 10 agree?

probably not...

the best thing about tennis games IMO, vs other sports games, is the level of control! The player controls the direction of the shot, the placementof the ball, the movement of the character, etc vs the computer deciding if a ball goes in the hoop or a teammate makes a catch...

2k absolutely failed on this point with ts4! To have the computer even partially control the character's movement is just shy of an abomination! what the hell were they thinking???

ts4 is such a disappointment!

Probably the only real upgrade I've seen is graphics and animations. I suppose the World Tour is a slight upgrade too... and also the player attribute system has a little more depth. Aside from that, it fails. Shots are too easy, no errors, ugly menu system that loads EXTREMELY slow with horrible in match movement where speed can at times be a non factor.

This is coming from a Top 10 player in both games.

Risk shots resemble real life tennis only when someone tries to hit a return ace like federer do wen returning 2nd sserves sometimes.. All the rest risk shots are unreal and made ts3 boring. All we did was to serve and hit the next shot as risk winner... That was boring and there were no different playstyles in ts3

Absolutely not true. The risk mechanism in ts3 was not perfect but all in all it added to the game. and there were different types of players in ts3. the ps3 tour had power base liners (nitoflament), all rounders (Lonamer, Maximo) serve and volleyers (marlonbrando), defensive play makers (myself and Alex), among many others!

The point is, ts3 provided everyone with a level of control to allow them to become the player that was most effective for them! Unlike ts4 which more or less dictates what your character does, especially how they move! How horrible!

And Ali I'm surprised u feel that way. u were a decent ts3 player with very good timing???

Agreed. And not only that in TS3 S&V was much more respectable because it actually took a great deal of talent to perform.

I don't want to give off the wrong impression though I really enjoy TS4 I just can plainly see its shortcomings as well.

Graphics, animations and movement is better for me in TS4. The one let down with the movement is there isn't enough variation with the speeds of players which made the skill pretty redundant. Despite this, I felt a lot more control using the movement in this game rather than in TS3 where it felt really clunky.

I also like the fact they took away a risk button, and attempted to make every shot kinda risky(though that did obviously fail. They made you have too much of a hit zone, so there was a huge margin for error). If they had pulled this off, the game would have been fantastic, with just a few problems.

Apart from that, I kinda liked TS3. It was more interesting in the long run.
