I revise my opinions on the animations.
The graphics are gorgeous, but the animations are HORRIBLE.
Won't be buying it if it looks this bad next year.

Also, are some of the grips wrong?

OMG - honestly that are the worst rally animations I have ever seen so far....

I think they did no motion capturing lol....

The only things that look dodgy are the animations and the slices... Apart from that it looked to have very similar style gameplay to GST on the wii.

I think it looks more like playing baseball or softball :D

Hmm, I don't think they will change that...too bad.

I was having so many thoughts about this game as maybe being a very good one... :-P

Looks like Jimmy Connors Tennis animations on SNES, or Yannick Noah Tennis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISQ0jH1gAHY)

that was horrible... at least they got the grunts right though!! (from what I heard in the other videos...) Still not enough for me to buy it though.

One of the forehands Fed hit in the rally made me cringe! smh

lol, we don't give Topspin enough credit for being a really good game.
The graphics and some of the presentation elements are nice here, but the gameplay looks HORRIBLE. Arcadey childish BS. The animations are on par with Virtua Tennis (which is to say, hugely inaccurate, really cartoony and a total WTF to anyone who actually watches tennis).

Do they think tennis is some kind of joke game that doesn't deserve proper animations like the other sports games they make?

It'll still sell a crateload because it's EA. Sigh.

They need to fix animations. That's unacceptable!

I will not accept this!
Seems I can't cross that threshold just yet :(

You've never played GST on the Wii then. I'm sure many will agree with me, and say that the gameplay on that game was very good. I think even Al would agree?

Yeah, they could tone down the slice, but all in all, it was a great tennis game.

I suppose I was let down because I hoped for similar gameplay but better animation and graphics. Graphics is improved, but animations not. So all in all, looks like a (proper) new gen port, effectively.

Looks like Virtua Tennis -- the players are flying around the court like they're on fast forward.

Indeed, GST on Wii was and still is a very good tennis game, better than TS4 is currently (and I doubt any patch will improve it on that level). Judging the gameplay on how the game looks is ridiculous, because what matters is what is happening behind the screen: How are the shots executed? What does it take to master executing these shots? How difficult is it to pull off these shots in difficult situations?

Speaking of slices: Watch the following match from the second set on - slice invasion! :P

As long as GST 2 still plays like GST and especially the Move controls are better than the WM+ controls I'll say "Good bye TS4!" next year.

Btw, just to clarify, I said the gameplay *looks* bad. It could of course be satisfying, but I doubt I'll buy it to find out, when it looks so damn shoddy.
