Damn Rob, we need to find that thread and claim the goddam idea!

Basically, it would work similar as serve but deeper:

- Down-up for flat shots. The faster you do it the harder the ball is and the longer you hold it up the deeper it is. Its a small timing window, sorta down-up-hold-for-split-second, release. Hold too long - you will hit long out, too short you may hit the net.

- For top spins you would rotate counter-clock wise, with the same principle. Faster rotation more spin but slower ball, higher, jumpier of the bounce. Slower rotation less spin. Too little spin and its long, too much spin and the balls are short and easy to attack. over 180 degree rotation creates a lob, hold the button after the rotation for depth.

- For slices rotate clock-wise. Faster rotation, more spin but risky, slower rotation could shank the ball. Half rotation for drop shot.

I can break it down on more details :D

I think this is a single best idea for control eva! And the best part? ....you can still design regular control for buttons. Have an advanced mode and a SIM mode.

Can I get a 8) now?

What Djarvik described, if I remember, is not exactly what I originally wrote.

Moving the stick faster would always give you more power, even on spin shots. To add more spin, you make a larger circle when you rotate. Aiming, including depth, was still done with the left stick. Also, no shot depended on how long you pressed anything - it is always based on how far you press: the further you press the left stick, the closer to the lines you hit. Press too far, and you hit out.

There was also another component to my idea: height modifiers.

Press the left shoulder button to aim higher. Press the right shoulder button to aim lower. The further you press, the higher/lower you hit. So, press the left shoulder button far enough, aim deep, rotate clock-wise, and you hit a topspin lob. Press the right shoulder button, aim short, rotate counter clock-wise, and you hit a drop shot. Aiming high, and rotating slow, could also buy you time to play defense.

Of course, pressing anything too far would hit out or in the net. Certain combinations don't make sense, and will always hit out: Aiming the ball deep, high, and flat would send it long. Try to hit a sharp angle without aiming low, and the ball goes wide - you must also rotate far enough to get the spin needed to bring the ball down. Hitting with power might require hitting lower, and hitting deep might need extra height.

I got excited when I saw this, especially because of the roster and most crucially WIMBLEDON.

However, remember that EA have a tendency to disappoint.

I am hoping for a great game, but the racquet control will be optional, something that I doubt online players will care to use.

I'd like them to also find a way of making character creation balanced, like it is on TS4, just with deeper editing options (like I listed in a thread).

What will this mean to ITST?
Will we transfer over to Grand Slam 2?

Will we run two different tours?

I hope EA invest appropriate dev time into this and make the best tennis game available, however I'm wary of EA. Outside of FIFA they have a tendency to rip off customers with some lacklustre games (I'm thinking Madden in particular) and their games often lack the care and attention I'm finding in TS4.

Again, I can only hope for the best game available, but please, don't get too excited, EA suck lol

This would be AWESOME and sooooo cool, but if it is optionl, then there is no use.

sounds good. only problem would be that youd likely destroy your RS in a month  same thing happens with nhl.

[quote="Gahan1990"]I don't know how Grand Slam Tennis 1 was for the Wii but I hope they have the big rosters of Top Spin 4 and their 1st game roster, that will be great especially as they have also not just the center courts but also the smaller ones, with another gameplay even I as a not that tennis fan would think of that

[/quote You know EA Sports always do it big they almost always come hard with their titles so we should expect nike, addidas, wilson and all other big sponsors to be in the game and hopefully the flaws that low for cheesy game-play and all the big stadiums

I don't think there will be any important difference between EA's tennis and TS4, yeah they will add some good details but the main problems will remain.
They never make a flawless/very decent sport game so they steal your money with their newer one after 1 year.

When I look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhHbHiVP ... re=related With the winners errors ratio and the new graphics of the teaser AND the right stick . I am very excited.
Was not impressed by TS4 but this one could be a TS killer if you ask me.
