the game is only $50 here in the U.S. i guess, as this is what i played. Im about to put it in and let you know what i think. Im sure it wont be as realistc as top spin 4 but still a very fun game if you enjoy tennis.

WOW.

I have played many tennis games, and this is BY FAR the worst game ive ever played. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. BIGGEST WAIST OF MONEY EVER.

the game IS entirely all net based. You can not hit a winner from the baseline to save your life. In a 2 set match my opponent is averaging around 80 net approaches in the match. This game is not fun at all. I do not know how someone could enjoy this game one bit.

BE WARNED: its awful

Two things could help any complaints, more speed on groundstrokes and a better lobbing ability. I'm sure they could speed up groundstroke speed quite easily via a patch, and even with these disadvantages there are ways to win from the baseline against net players, even if serve and volley is the dominant strategy.

I'm happy when someone makes a stupid net approach (i.e. rushes the net all the time): If I time my shots well, the point is mine. The most difficult opponents to defeat are very good baseliners.

I agree with JayFro, speed on groundstrokes could be a bit higher (or speed of players slower), but even as it is net rushing is not the way to go: I've played against a couple of top 10 and top 20 players on the PS3 who rush the net all the time and I've defeated them by hugging the baseline, including the world number 2. The world number 1 is a very good baseliner.

Interesting, I've only played 5 matches online, but I've handled all of my opponents easily without coming to the net, and I know the #1 Xbox player is a net rusher on some insane win streak of 100 plus matches with only 1 loss, but I'm shocked that everyone thinks the online is only serve and volley. I've put up some videos of me playing net guys while I'm playing the baseline, and like you said if you know how to play the baseline well you can kill these guys just mindlessly running to the net with poor tactics behind it. I would still like to see an increase in groundstroke speed however for both the flat and topspin shots, I think a decrease in footspeed could hurt the returner which might make it easier for serve and volley players.

The game is a tragedy for me. Back to top spin...

im 1-2 when trying to play as an offensive baseliner and 8-0 when playing as a serve and volleyer.... maybe its just me, but it seems a little ridiculous....you may also just be playing some guys who arent ranked very high yet.

add me on xbox live: Hollaa Itz Mike

i hope you can prove me wrong that it is not overpowered

BE WARNED, Hollaa Itz Mike DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME. No offence, but you OBVIOUSLY don't know at all how to make a decent shot in this game. Yes, your opponent goes to the net often, but have you thought that it might be because it's easy points against people who can't make passing shots and lobs(talking about online, not offline). Winners from the baseline is all about making great shots at the right moments. Go to the practice court and learn how to hit the ball before making comments like these.

Just had to say it, sorry if it offends you. I respect that you don't want to play the game yourself, but when you write such a message on a public forum you should expect answers like this imo.

Still I have to admit, it's way to easy to play at the net using buttons. Arcade button playing shouldn't have been in this game imo. Makes it unbalanced alone. ;)

i dont understand your point man...idk how you can play this game and see that its not flawed...its not that you cant beat a net player...but you cant put the ball away if both players r talented and at the baseline

i never said that you cant hit passing shots...but almost all points r won by either;

a lob

passing shot

winning volley

overhead

thats all there is to it...i can count on one hand the times that i or my opponent has cracked a winner from the baseline...it is simply impossible if both players r staying back and r somewhat talented at the game
