Secondly lobs are a bit of a mixed bag have had success with both stick and buttons. So im not biased on either both have potential to be good.

The thing about lobs people don't realise is that if everytime your opponent comes to the net you lob they will smash it everytime mix up your play when someone is at the net guys and watch how you will destroy netrushers and completely rid them from this game in due time.

slice shots are definately improved with the stick they curl the other way to top spin shots when done with the stick. e.g. a right hander with a top spin shot on his forehand the ball will curl to the left but with a stick slice it will curl to the right sort of like a off forehand flat shot you see pro's do.

I figured out how to hit passing shots better finally, there is a secret that I don't think some of the top guys are sharing. Both you and Pasta have to be well aware of it while many others it would seem are not. I found it out by accident about a week ago, and then started actually doing it 3 days ago, and it is making a huge difference now.

That certainly doesn't mean I'm going to beat all net rushers, but these two little secrets make a difference at least when playing them. I played a match last night which shows my improved passing shots.

From the demo, it seemed i could pass much better by standing well inside the baseline. almost in no mans-land.

Thanks, it wasn't hard to figure out, but I'm shocked more people haven't figured it out, I'm not sure if it's an accident in the programming or not, but that along with the movement secret have me covering the court much better and hitting much better passing shots. The guy I beat in the video was top 120 and I beat him soundly with a create a player Agassi that I wouldn't even consider to be all that good.

Hold on to your secrets while you can, I've debated on letting the cat out of the bag on my Youtube channel or not....., but it's just a matter of time before more people figure these things out.

That helps take time away, but that is no where near the secret. Once this gets out it might even give the advantage back to the baseliner, but I still think the netplay needs to be toned down regardless. I do think now that I stand a much better chance against all the serve and volley cheesers with my new found knowledge.

Ha, now I remember JayFro - the TS1 player who never gave advice and never surrendered any of his so-called "secrets."

Not much has changed over the years.

So why aren't you asking Pasta or ITA Stallion since they brought it up first? I think I'm doing more than enough by having a channel posting videos of the game that help people to play better. Maybe they aren't secrets, maybe they're learning how to play the game by figuring things out ;)

Pasta noticed the change while watching my video on YouTube, and I'm sure Stallion would be able to see the difference as well. Just a matter of figuring out how things work a little better. If those guys are willing to spill the beans I am.....don't think they will though.

When you create a player, does putting points into speed actually make a difference?

I mention your name only because you were notorious for not coughing up any information on the old Xbox forums - no matter how many times you were prodded by Borg, Netbudda, Trainerdude and all the rest.

No biggie. Not trying to offend. Just think it's funny. 8)

I'd like to say I remember that but I do not, there were no secrets that I was aware of on the old Topspin 1, just the ability to risk which was simply timing, and character creation which everyone could see for themselves stats wise. Either way, no big deal but I'm not the top guy in this game, Pasta obviously has a better grasp of the game mechanics than I do, and I've only got 21 ranked matches online while he has 300.

And people have emailed me on my YouTube channel asking for advice and I have told them how to play the game better. I just think some things are better to figure out on your own, if I can do it and Pasta and Stallion can do it surely there are other people that have "figured" it out. ;)

there is alot of people figuring out how to pass the netrushers now.

Actually seeing variety for once online lol OMG!!!!!!.

Some people playing at the baseline others rushing and others playing a mix of the 2.
