Davis Cup is dead?!

The event where it's not about the players, it's about the countries! Talk about the great Davis Cup here.

Davis Cup is dead?!

Hi,

I just want to know, whats going on with Davis Cup hehe´?

Somehow I have the feeling, the whole Davis Cup is aborted and it's not going its way.
Results are not actual, deadlines are not kept and somehow everyone is wondering, why it's not going to continue?
Messages are not answered, the host is away and seems not to have much time to handle it on his own.

How many people are responsible for this? Is it only Rob as a Host?
I mean, I can understand, if someone has not enough time and I also can understand Rob, if he has to manage it on his own. We all do have a real life..Thats clear, but I think then there should be at least 2 persons who care about that, if the only host has no time.....

Because I guess, if it goes like that futhermore, Davis Cup will be dead someday and noone will play it anymore, because everything with deadlines and so on is out of order....so for what playing it?!
I think that many breaks all the time, takes the fluency out of the Davis Cup and it would take months to complete it.....

I think, it should be handled more strict here.

So what do you think? Maybe I am all wrong with everything but its just my impression and it would be a shame if noone cares about Davis Cup anymore.....

Sorry, I have been super busy the last few weeks and haven't had time to sit down and sift through all the messages so I can give the walkovers. Tomorrow I have a full day off and will get everything back on track. I was kind of hoping everyone would just play their matches, and it would take care of it's self, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

And unfortunately, Davis Cup works differently from normal tournaments, and it's not something someone else can just take over when I get too busy. I'm the only host for it, and there's not much we can do about that right now.

For the next round, I have a plan that will speed things up, but it's too late to start using it for this round.

Furthermore it's not the host who is responsible for success of davis cup, but the players.

I think there is less effort by some players (apparently some don't want to play anymore and don't answer to messages) to set up the matches, maybe because the interest in davis cup has gone lost. It's very poor too see so many walkovers.
