USA Davis Cup Team

I can't commit to playing, but I'll captain a team if needed.

You guys need to find some common ground right now.

It seems everyone agrees that the best thing to do is put the 5 best guys on one team, to give a US team the best chance of winning. So, which players does everyone agree should be on that team?

I'm sure everyone agrees Hollaa Itz Mike is going to be on that team. Four left. Who's next?

BTW, I think Djarvik and Mike are both right - ITST ranking should have some weight to it (because the matches are played under ITST rules), but I think some sort of playoff would be a good idea since the rankings are new. I propose:

An 8 player round-robin tournament, using the ITST rankings for the seeding. The four players that reach the semifinal, plus the player with the next best performance (going by head-to-head, sets, etc.) will be on the team. Then, the team captain can just decide who plays each position, or...... The winner of the tournament will be #1, the finalist is #2, and the two semifinalists play for the #3 spot.

You should also find out if there is a set time for EZE's suspension - I really don't know, but you shouldn't just assume he'll still be out when DC starts.

So those are the 3 teams that i come up with. if djarvik is insistent on not playing we can bump somebody upp of of team 2 or just leave it how it is,

What yall think?

edit: the order in which I listed you does not mean you are playing in that position. I just simply put you there it has no other meaning

Sorry guys, Haiffaman just said i could play on the Canadian Davis Cup team, so that's where I'll be. thank you for the opportunity, but please take me off Team 2 USA.

We need to get something moving with decisions though because Davis Cup starts July 7th I believe. And now we lost Hollaa Itz Mike

there is nothing to do, one player will be moved up from team 2. If djarvik is playing we should be ok.

But there is not going to be a dramatic change to the team.

Ok with recent drop outs, I have compiled new teams. I still think 3 teams will be the way to go. Team 3 is going to be a bit thin, but adding those players to the other 2 teams, means that they will likely not play much. So I stuck with 3 teams.

I dont know how long eze17 suspension is but if he is able to play before davis cup starts then I will do a minor readjustment before the davis cup starts. Like I said team 3 is a bit thin, but I think you all can manage.

I plan to contact all of you via pm tonight, please respond to it ASAP. If I do not get a response back from you, I will take you off of the davis cup team. This is just because we have a lot of people playing and I do not want to leave a team short-handed.
