Can someone advance this tournament to the semi-finals? The deadline for the quarters to end was two days ago, but there is still an unplayed match.

I'm leaving to go out of town in a couple of days (the day after the supposed deadline for the final) and I don't want to have to retire from a match that I should have been able to play based on the deadlines.

Yea u right draws should be updated according to the deadlines otherwise all the excitement in a tournament is spoiled

Once a tournament gets to the QF, the host may allow extra time if the players show that they are trying to play.

What if that leads to me having to miss a semi-final or final? Will the tournament be postponed until I get back from my vacation?

I understand the concept and have no problem with it, since the matches at the end of the tournament are the most important and it's always better to have the matches actually played. But it wouldn't be fair to me to have to miss out on a semi or final because I relied on the tournament deadlines -- I wouldn't have signed up for the tournament if I knew I wouldn't be around for the later matches.

It's at the host's discretion. Like I said, they may give extra time if the players show they are tying to play.

I have got nearly the same problem a few days ago, during the wimbledon tournament..
I was able to play the whole week ... and I was always sending a message to my opponent...
Finally, I think we have played the last day....
That day, the game was lagging a lot and we only played 2 games (for around 10 minutes..)...
My opponent decided to leave the match telling me that we could play later (something like 2-3 hours later... it was already 10pm and I had to sleep to go to work the next day, but I've also asked him to play right now, but, he declined my proposition...)
Then we decided to plan the match for the next day...
So 1 day after the deadline, while I was looged in here, I noticed that I have lost by a Walkover...
After trying to explain that to the host, he just told me that as I wasn't online on the deadline night (my opponent was online anyway), He won the match as a Walkover...

Well, I was available the whole week !!!

So can I have any reaction about what happened to me???

if he didnt answer you or offer any availability during the whole week this sounds really unfair.

you sent match propositions for 6/7 days and he did for only one.

he is the one who decided to quit the match.

he declined your offer to keep playing when you informed him that later would be too late.
