What MoralSpain said, plus...
This is probably a good time to point out some things that may not be obvious about when someone gets a walkover:
I don't know about this particular situation, but far too often I see someone send one message on the last day of the deadline (or, even the day before) and get upset that they don't receive a walkover. Walkovers are given when you show that you have made a real effort to play your match - waiting to send a message on the day of the deadline is not a real effort. You need to send a message as soon as you can, and you need to use the Private Message system we have in place on our site. Sending a message over Xbox Live or PSN is all fine and good, but the host cannot see those messages, and verifying that they have been sent is difficult and far too time consuming.
Also, it's always best to list the times you are available to play. Don't just say "Hey, when can you play?", or, "We have a match to play, add me to your friends list".
Use our system, use it early, and be specific on which times you can play - do that, and you should have no problems.
Again, I don't know what happened in this situation, but it's important that everyone understands how to properly arrange a match.
