just played against ItaStalion, lost 0-6, 0-6, but we had way to much lag. After every single of my serve it was lag and just guessing which corner he would take otherwise i was already to late...

Is there anything that i can do due to lag? what kind of internet connection is preferred. Or is because of the distance in countries?

In my experience, most cases are the distance between the players.

My advice is to check if no one is using the internet at that moment when you have the match and also check if the pc is downloading anything. What i do is i switch off the wireless before my matches to minimize lag.

Just played a couple of games. Neither of them finished though

First game was really topsy turvy :? It was against pr1-01-ye5h. he was courier and I was my DB guy. The score was 6-3 1-6 1-0 to me when he had to leave. This was on clay and we had some long rallies  I broke in his first game but struggled from then on.

Second game I was playing Nitoflament, and I was 4-6 3-4(i think :?: ) down. Was a really good game. He was using the same setup as my safin it seems(except with equal fh/bh) and this made it really difficult for me to play my game. I was using my DB. It was pretty good though. I got a little frustrated with the short angles, but I was still trying a way to counter them near the end

Had a fun match with sound today, lost 6-7 2-6 to sampras as my SV player. While not a battering something was embarrassing... with 99 serve, focus service and stick berserker I only served 2 aces. I just couldnt aim it for some reason. But was a fun match all the same with some great points... sounds highlight being tracking down a lob for a massive fh pass and mine hitting perhaps the best cross court drop volley while sound was in the middle of the net and me on the far right, was more like a badminton shot :)

Sampras (Sound) rolls back the years to stun Davydenko (Tombs)

6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-0

1st Set:

Davydenko's blistering groundstrokes caused Sampras a lot of trouble. Sampras had difficulty holding serve, Davydenko rarely losing points on his. Davydenko eventually converted on a breakpoint. Serving for the set at 5-4, Sampras found inspiration hitting aggressively from the baseline to break from being 30-0 down. Pumped up Pistol Pete though nearly lost his own serve straight away, but held his nerve. Going a mini break up in the tie break and leading Davydenko at 5-3, Davydenko found back his earlier form and stormed through to take it 7-5.

2nd Set:

The true champ that Sampras is, didn't let the 1st set get to him and found the intensity he had when breaking in the first set. He broke early and that proved decisive for the set. Davydenko though still threatening each Sampras service games.

3rd Set:

Both players are really tired now, and the mental game was certainly the bigger. Who had the heart, the will to win more. Sampras broke early again. Davydenko either felt tired or he felt had to change his game and started hitting drop shots. But when it's not perfect, it only brings pistol pete into the net. The rest is history. The energy was Sampras was too much for the Russian who as each game went by became more and more broken inside and out. Game, Set, Match, Sampras

Grudge match, Sampras (Sound) fought hard to beat S & V rival Rafter (v_x_m)

4-6, 6-4, 6-3

The veteran plays played Serve and Volley on every point, despite not having much success. Who would believe big heavy Sampras serves would get broken 10 times in a 3 set match?! Rafter's spin serves were punished even more, broken 13 times!!!

The real Sampras (Sound) defeated Joe Sampras (villaj100), the imposter

7-6, 6-2

Unfortunately for Joe Sampras, his serves were right into the real Sampras's hitting zone. He had the speed, but the placement just wasn't good enough against one of the all time greats. Sampras calmly takes it in 2 straight sets. Joe Sampras showed character by not giving up, tried his hardest to break the legendary Sampras, earning breakpoints. Breakpoints alone though, not enough. Game, Set, Match, Real Sampras.

Crotatsuya VS Tigerofintegrity

Was supposed to be a short match before going to bed.
Well, look what happened...:)

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I took the first set 4:3 and was leading 2:1 in the second set while serving for match. Tiger fought back and took the break after a long deuce and it was Tiebreak again. I was leading 3:0, but once again panicked just like in real life as soon as the big points came, so after some furious rallies he won the set 8:6 and I was in shock.^^
So the match went on, he broke my serve to 0, and went ahead 2:0. At 2:1 he was serving for match, but I had him at 15:40 and again started to struggle. After the longest deuce game ever I could finally break him and also went ahead 3:2. Then, in his serve game I was leading 40:15, 2 match points. Of course I lost my nerves again as usual and 4 missed match points later it was Tiebreak again. With the stamina bar on both characters on half, I was leading 5:1 , but again Tiger fought back like a boss and won the game 8:6 again, taking the match he himself surely thought was lost on more than one occasion.

That was the best match I ever had in Top Spin, since it is rare to play someone with equal skill. Usually one is always a bit better than the other, but I guess matches like these only happen when it is completely even.

So, there you go, Top Spin 4 is a great game. Should you ever have a match with rallies like these, you'll see. ;)

As Tiger said: so much for short match. :)

You have a good memory Crotatsuya, recalling every detail even in the heat of battle.

That was hands down the best match I've played on TS4 to date. A real topsy turvy epic. There were tonnes of cracking rallies and I really had to fight hard and concentrate on those big points to pull out that win. I still don't know how I managed to end up winning, I was in trouble so many times!

That was great fun, well played Crotatsuya! It kept you up a bit later but you'll probably sleep better tonight now after that. :)

I hope everyone gets to experience this kind of match at some point on TS4. I'm sure it'll sway a lot of minds.

Courier's (Tombs) instant rocket brings Sampras (Sound) back down to Earth

Courier wins 7-5, 3-6, 6-4

Sampras declined to comment. This was a tough loss, he was 4-2 in the 3rd, Courier just had more in the tank to surge back. Perhaps Courier will give full match details.
