Yeah, my female S&V only has 40 power as well. It may be hard to pass them at the net (although not as hard as some people think -- it's all about styles; defensive baseliners with high attributes on both wings pass me all the time), but they are incredibly weak on return games. It's a balance.

Ur missing the point, its unrealistic the way that they play with this coach. Its the most unrealistic thing that i've noticed from this great game. If u ban coaches for unrealistic Monster Defence, this should be banned to. The advantage that the players got from this coach is many more than other coaches. Thats not a notice, thats a fact. And if u use this guy the way that S&V players play, u will never be broken again and u can, even with ur 40 power and low stamina, always come to the net with an bad approach because the reach is outstanding. Its not possible to pass, even the top players are admitting this..

I feel ya I can never break a s&v player with this coach and on return games they will do a random bad approach shot and once there at the net it's over
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm :P

No disrespect, I'm sure you're a much stronger player than I am, and I'm not saying he's not a very strong coach but if this was the case surely serve and volleyers would be winning all the big tournaments instead of welch and rabari players?

The players that Michael Kelly etc punish the most are slow players that can't chase down the volleys or get into position quick enough to respond well to approach shots. The way I see it is that if you're prepared to only have a speed of 40 something then you've got to be prepared to have a really hard time against Kelly.. it's a small price to pay.

I think it's probably fair to guess that there's a lot more OBs than any other build on ITST, and if you get rid of strong S&V builds like kelly then it just gives people more incentive not to choose anything else.

If you think s&v has an advantage, then try playing as one for a while. Once you're s&v player gets beaten a few times, you'll know what gives them trouble.

I've been using a 18-2-0 Kelly setup for a while now. I must admit the 90+ volley / VSA combo feels a bit over the top sometimes. Even the badly timed volleys are still very good ones.

That said, all those 90+ power setups with IR or diesel hard hitter feel overpowered too. The diffference is that those players exploit their stats/skills in literally every shot they hit. That's never going to be the case for a s&v player. That's why I don't feel too bad about using a Micheal Kelly setup: it's my way to -maybe- have a chance against setups that can use their overpowered stats a lot more than I can use mine.

I'm not for banning anything more on the regular tour though. There is a sim tour coming up. I'm quite sure there will be no Micheal Kelly character in the roster there.

But there's not a coach with fh 97 and bh 97, is there? The way that this players are playing, they go each and every point to the net and only using the advantage of the 97 skill from the volleys including the 80+ reflexes and the volley shot artist. The 68 fh and backhand does not matter anymore because they are only using the unrealistic 97 volley in combination with the volley special. In this way every normal player can play like a legend like Sampras, meanwhile are players like Likos and DennieFR1908 outstanding in there intelligence and perfection with this game. With this big amount of advantage its possible to be an top player like Likos and Dennie without having that special intelligence. Besides that, the way that the volleys are played is very unreal, it damages the fun of this game. As i said, i never complain about anything, but this is over the top.. Also the powerplayers etc. are not like this. A good player can manage the power and win, but this can't be managed. If u are looking this forum u will see that the better players from the tour ( Fr Zooloo, Alex) are agreeing with me, because they now what they talking about and they now what tennis ment to be. This way is certainly not the way tennis ment to be..

well in my opinion it would be good to have a 89 or 90 cap on every stat except stamina, but im not sure if i have an objective opinion since i use svk / sc 88 power setup.

thing is i got this power because after i spend the points for this coach i get better wings if i put the extra points in OB instead of DB. which is a bit strange.

anyway, for power players or volley players, the permanent crazyness of shots gets unreal when you are over 90 i think

SV play isn't easy. you need to be able to react quickly, anticipate, serve with the maximum amount of variety you can and even factor in other things like stamina conservation. if you are losing to someone approaching on bizarre shots you should be picking them off. of course im describing a fair player here not some drop volley cheese wizard

Honestly, I would not be able to morally use anything close to 100 :P It just feels incredibly wrong. I did try to SV with 100 and like Rocketsfall says, even the miss-timed shots are devastating. It is easy, for sure.....just need some time to adapt. With power it is instant success, but I think with volley 100 you just have more options.

As for return game of SV being not effective enough? I call BS. With a nice soft slice you can actually do a chip and charge and with high reflexes returning is actually easier. The trick is to pick the returns that wont hurt you next point. Like mid court top spins for example.

That's the thing what i am talking about. Only a few players in the past has managed to be an top S&V player ( Sampras, Rafter etc.) But 80-90% will never reach the top 3 with this play because its very tough in the realistic way. With this coach its not so hard anymore, because the player can do everything with the volleys and become a star like Sampras without that maximum amount of variety and intelligence, that is completely ridiculous..

all i can say is then i must be really bad at the game, as i have far more success playing as a OFB than a SV player. The best example i can give is recently me and fedfan played, and we are pretty close in standard. I got demolished something like 6-1 6-2. I can absolutly guarantee that wouldn't happen if i played from the back of the court. he just knew how to exploit all the weak parts of my game. Or as K_vishal, i played him in a challenger last week and lost 6-0 6-7 6-2, and had to play the set of my life to win the 2nd.

Yes, With the high reflex its possible to come in soon and take advantage from the high volley 97 and volley shot artist each and every point. This is why this coach have to be banned if u look realistic. This coach have much more advantage than the banned Monster Defense coaches..

Maybe its a good idea to accept all the coaches and make an rule that its not allowed to make one thing higher than 85 or 90 besides stamina or something..
