Retiring From PS3 Tour

Postby ItaStallion » Wed, 25 May 2011 05:33

DennieFR1908 will be the next no.1 in top spin 4 easily remember you heard it here first.

Enjoy playing everyone and good luck.

P.S. All tournament hosts give my opponents walkovers so they don't have to wait for me.

If that's your decision. Shame though cos it was always fun playing with you. Even though it was only a short time, I enjoyed all the matches we had together and I'll definitely miss 'em.

you can be unbeatable in offline matches with computer though
but online matches give the adrenaline just because you can get beaten 8)

I'm also pretty close to stopping.. I'm going to see if I'm kicked out of Roland Garros.. as PSN ASIA is still down atm. I have been kicked from 6 tournaments already.. which has removed the fun of rankings/competition for me. Maybe I'll just be playing exhibitions against good players. (ITA you included;)

Not to mention the banning of coaches, I understand Pei.. but Peto was next (Why was he considered OP?) so now have had to make 2 new players in 24 hours but this one without TI/MD/PS(12th player I've had to remake lol) but best thing is I still pretty much get the exact same angles.. cant wait till the moaning starts again haha, although strangely it seems alot less about movement now and just about power.. which I'm finding terribly boring.

Hmm

I hope you guys return to the tour after the network is fixed and running 100% again. It would be a shame to lose you because of Sony's idioicy

It's not Sonys fault that the WT doesn't work properly.

It's really sad that you decided to leave, I learned a lot from you.

And finally you have the competition you always wanted, that's why I sent Denniel to you, I knew he was on your level, if not better.

Now that you are gone, I don't see anyone even close to beating him.

But anyway, good luck to you online as well as offline in Real Life. ;)
TS4 won't be the same without the mighty stallion. :<

I don't think the psn thing is the reason why leaving.

Yeah I mean I'm pretty sure I know the reason why but it doesn't really matter anyway so I'm not gonna bother to speculate. All that matters is that Ita was a great addition to the tour and it'll be a blow to have him gone.

I've found a few setups that are very close to Pei and one that at least equal or better with no TI/MD :) .. also created one with the stats agassi has ;)

Hey guys i enjoyed playing with you all its not that.

Just I dont like how ITST bans certain coaches and leaves other coaches to dominate the field now.... my 67 power 82 speed guy was overpowered i guess.

This game is still in my experience to new to start banning things and if one if was needed to be banned the Chinese coach that i would understand but not the 3 other ones.

ITST was taking up alot of my time as well with people taking forever to play there matches and i was spending more time waiting online for them than actually playing matches.

but i am always up for some exhibition matches when i'm online.

So add me any of you if you want some exhibition matches.

I always suggest the same thing when I hear this. Just play Masters, Grand Slams, and maybe a few 250's if you have extra time. It's the playing a tournament every single week that will start getting to you, especially if you win a lot of tournaments, since the average tournament lasts 3 weeks you get lots of overlap.

The ban...well that was asked for by the overwhelming majority.

You're referring to the 'Ban Pei' poll right? - Where did people ask to ban the others?

I really think the problem is less about the skills and more about the ability to make players with 80+ on both wings. As long as you have a really high forehand or backhand stat you can consistently hit ridiculous shots that would end up as errors probably 90% of the time in real life. You don't even need to have high power -- it helps, but in my experience just having the high forehand/backhand stat is what really matters. When one of them is over 90 you can hit winners almost any time you use that side. I've played people online with 85/90 (rough estimate) on both sides, with relatively low power, and if they get any kind of opening at all they are hitting a shot right on the line every single time.

It just turns into a guessing game as to which side they are going to hit it to, because you don't really even have time to set yourself up in the middle of the court and then react to where they play the ball.

If going for that kind of shot actually led to errors a significant amount of the time, it wouldn't be a problem....but since you can just play for crazy angles on every shot without worrying about hitting it out, having the really high stats on both sides makes the player an absolute machine for someone who knows what they are doing.

EDIT: This reminds me -- anyone else notice a drop in the people using TI/MD in WT mode? At one point everyone I played was using it, now there's a group of 4-5 coaches I see regularly....but almost every player I play has at least 75 on both forehand and backhand.
