Why are people playing Top spin So serious ?

Postby olidez » Thu, 05 May 2011 08:21

Hy everyone,

Everytime I play someone who has a regular custom player (not cheated), I send him/her a short message when the match is over to say that it was a good game or my impressions about it.

I never receive an answer...

I used to do that in VT (not the 4th one, that's a joke of a game), and eveytime I got an answer.

Does it take a lot of time just to reply ?

I think it makes the game more friendly.

I add that I have hit the 1 000 very quickly and avoided the cheaters, so most of the time I play friendly matches.

Do you guys here send replys when you get a short message after a game ?

Moreover, I am looking for people who play fair and prefer sim games over arcade (I mean serve and baseline hitters), if you are in that category, do not hesitate to add me. Win or loose, I don't care as long as I learn or have fun, that is, in my opinion the most important thing when I play games.

Thanx for reading.

Oh, and I have 4 custom players who are all different, and still looking for the best setup to make a good volley player whi isn't tired after 3 balls.

Have a nice day, have fun playing, and by the way, this site rocks,
I feel like I'm going to have a lot of reading to do...

Welcome to the site! It's online gaming. Most of them are probably kids still growing hair on their balls so they're always cranky, behave like dicks and not people you should expect civilised behaviour from.

Sometimes you do find a decent person though and you'll find plenty of them here playing TS4. I always reply if someone sends me a good message after a game but I just ignore them when they whine or act like a brat.

Oh and if you're looking for sim aficionados to play with, you'll be spoilt for choice on this site.

Thx for the reply, sometimes they leave their microphone on, I am laughing at their live reactions.

I created a John Travolta, who is overall player, very fun to play with, but I always loose (I don't mind), currently busy ttrying to make a decent Henin (that face sculptor is very hard to handle).

I do really think the height and weight of the player has an importance, or that they are given some kind of dna...

I created the exact same 2 players with the only difference being their physical aspect, and one of them is behaving smoothly, the other is harder to play with (they have the exact same coach too).

Does the fact that playing a bit in the world tour has an effect on the player ?

I hardly ever reply. Especially if I just lost a match. I usually say nothing if I have nothing nice to say. If I win I, I almost never say anything to them as I know they might be angry with the loss. Just saying.

Yes you start to get anger issues when initially playing against Topspin Invasion/Monster Defense.. but then when you start winning against them, you get this cruel smile on your face when yer opponent starts resorting to serving wide, or using slices on everything. Then you start maniacally laughing when yer opponent realizes he has no chance and quits.

But no, it doesn't make you crazy.

I agree totally with where you are coming from olidez, there is way too much agro around when all you want is to have some fun. Although I'm very new to playing TS4 online and TS4 in general,( I have only played 3 or 4 matches and am yet to actually win a game lol), I discovered the benefits of actually going through the training program, which of course then allowed me to realize that TS4 is really quite a bit different to other tennis games I've played such as Virtua Tennis 3 which, although I never tried playing it online, was so incredibly easy to play against the CPU compared to TS4, I mean, it was almost impossible to hit the ball out for example, so I am finding TS4 to be a more fun and challenging game and you sound like the kind of player that I would very much enjoy playing against as you also are playing for the fun of it, not like if you don't win then it's off to the bathroom to go and get all emo on your wrists or something. Please feel free to find and add me and hopefully we can play some fun games together. :)
